AAA reports United States and Georgia Gas Prices near $2.00 a Gallon

 

AAATampa, FL – Gas prices fell another 7 cents last week as the national average settled at $2.07, moving closer to $2.00 a gallon. If it happens, this would be the first time the national average was under $2.00 in nearly six years (March 2009).

“The national average could be $2.00 or less by this time next week,” said Mark Jenkins, spokesman, AAA – The Auto Club Group. “Gasoline has been falling at a rate of about 1-cent a day and that trend is likely to continue in the next seven days.” «Read the rest of this article»

Revised Color Scheme Revealed For 2015 Season

Clarksville Police release name of shooting victim at Lansinger Lane

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The deceased person from last night’s shooting on Lansinger Lane has been identified as 22-year-old Montrel Quintres Patterson of Clarksville, TN.

Clarksville Police Department releases Alcoholic Beverage Commission Operation results from January 9th, 2015

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Friday, January 9th, 2015, Alcohol Beverage Control Agents (ABC) of the Clarksville Police Department’s Special Operations Unit conducted operations targeting sales of alcohol to underage persons.

Austin Peay names Breigh Jones APSU Athlete of the Week

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Junior sprinter Breigh Jones, of the Austin Peay State University women’s track and field team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.

Jones broke her own school record in the 400m dash over the weekend, becoming the first Lady Gov to post a sub-55 second mark with a 54.97 run at the ETSU Niswonger Invitational in Johnson City, TN, taking runner-up honors in the 92-runner event.

While second place might be enough to temper the excitement of earning a school record, Jones finished second to 2014 World Indoor Champion Jernail Hayes, and was stride-for-stride against one of the top runners in the nation for the better part of 300 meters.

Clarksville Police asks Public Assistance in finding Lansinger Lane Shooting Suspect Timothy Shoffner

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Tuesday, January 20th, 2015 at approximately 8:45pm the Clarksville Police Department responded to 321 Lansinger Lane in reference to a shooting call.

57-year-old Lisa Downs and 23-year-old Donald Johnson had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and were transported by LifeFlight to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Austin Peay State University raises more than $8,000 for Wounded Warrior Project

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s athletics department raised more than $8,000 for the Wounded Warrior Project, auctioning off 80 of the camouflage jerseys worn in the Governors’ 2014 Homecoming football game against Tennessee State.

As part of Military Appreciation Day and to honor the troops at Fort Campbell, the Austin Peay football team elected to wear camouflage jerseys, November 8th, 2014, against Tennessee State.

JFC-UA service members in controlled monitoring for signs and symptoms of Ebola Virus

United States Africa CommandJoint Base Langley-Eustis, VA – Service members who recently returned from supporting Operation United Assistance in Liberia, go through the mandatory temperature checks in the 21-day controlled monitoring area at Joint Base Langley – Eustis, VA, January 20th, 2015.

This is one of two temperature checks these troops take daily while in the CMA. The process also includes a checklist for signs and symptoms of the Ebola Virus Disease that is filled out twice a day.
