Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUJacksonville, FL – It was an inauspicious start to the 2015 Spring golf season for Austin Peay State University’s women, Monday, during the opening two rounds of the North Florida Intercollegiate, being played at the Jacksonville Golf and Country Club.

After shooting an opening-round 326, the Lady Govs fired a second-round 331 for a 657 total, leaving them in 16th place heading into Tuesday’s final round on the par-72, 6,050-yard layout.

Houston (594) and Texas (600) lead the field.

Junior Jessica Cathey had the Lady Govs’ only sub-80 round during the day, shooting a 6-over 78 during the first round. But she uncharacteristically struggled during Round 2, shooting an 87 that included triple and double bogeys.

Freshman AnnaMichelle Moore matched Cathey’s 185 total with 84-81 while sophomores Morgan Kauffman (80-87) and Morgan Gardner (84-83) were two strokes back while Meghan Mueller shot 169, although she had the Lady Govs’ lowest second-round score with an 80.

Freshman Anna Pope, playing as an individual, shot 170 (81-89).
