Murray, KY – Austin Peay State University women’s golf team produced its best round of the MSU Invitational but couldn’t make up any ground, Saturday, in the tourney’s final day.

Cincinnati won the event by 11 strokes with a three-round 909.
Sophomore Morgan Gardner had the Lady Govs’ low round of the day—the team’s only sub-80 score—by firing a Saturday round of 78—she finished at 244 overall. Junior Jessica Cathey had an 80 to finish 238 as the Lady Govs team best score.
Freshmen Anna Pope and AnnaMichelle Moore both had 81 to end at 247 and 248, respectively. Junior Morgan Kauffman had an 82 to match Pope’s three-round 247.
Sophomore Kelsey Schutt, playing as an individual, followed up her two sub-80 rounds (79-78) with an 80 Saturday to finish 237 to end in a 24th-place tie. It was her second Top 25 this season but first of the spring.
Senior Meghan Mueller, also playing as an individual, finished at 251 (83-83-85) while freshman Sarah Struble ended at 266 (94-85-87).
The Lady Govs will use this week to prepare for the Ohio Valley Conference championship, which will be played April 20th-22nd, at Hampton Cove on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail in Huntsville, Alabama.
