UT Vols Basketball roll over Florida Gators, 83-69

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsKnoxville, TN – A complete effort on both ends of the court and 26 points from senior guard Kevin Punter Jr. propelled Tennessee to an 83-69 victory over the Gators Wednesday night at Thompson-Boling Arena.

Admiral Schofield followed up a career-high 22 in the Vols’ Southeastern Conference opener with 17 against Florida. Robert Hubbs III added 12 and Detrick Mostella 10 to give UT four players in double figures.

Tennessee stormed out to a commanding 53-31 at halftime and lead by as many as 30 in the second half.

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency continues Winter Trout Stocking

 

Clarksville’s Billy Dunlop Park to be restocked Thursday, February 4th

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - TWRANashville, TN – The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency’s winter trout stocking program resumes as the new year begins and will continue at selected locations through middle portion of March. The 2015-16 program began December 1st and had 26 stockings at various locations through mid-December.

The program provides numerous close to home trout fishing opportunities for anglers during the winter months. These fisheries also provide a great opportunity to introduce children or first-time anglers to fishing.

UT Lady Vols Basketball begins SEC at home against Florida Gators

Tipoff is slated for 7:31pm ET (6:31pm ET), and the game will be part of the SEC Network’s whip-around coverage. The contest will be available in its entirety on SECN+ and WatchESPN online.

Tennessee, which fell as low as No. 16 in each of the polls, has won three in a row to work its way back to 12th in the AP Poll and 11th in the USA TODAY Coaches Poll this week.

Montgomery County Sheriff Investigator Larry Hodge passes away

 

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOClarksville, TN – Thirty year veteran with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Investigator Larry Hodge, 55, has passed away.

Hodge is the son of an Air Force veteran and grew up all over the world. As a child he rose to the rank of Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts. He graduated from Jacksonville High School in 1978 and shortly thereafter settled in Clarksville with his family.

Clarksville Police Department warns public of Scammer posing as Montgomery County Deputy

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department has been made aware of at least two different Clarksville citizens who have received phone calls from a scammer claiming he is a Montgomery County Deputy, and his name is James Marshall with a badge number of 7311.

One potential victim stated that the phone number the scammer called from was 931.257.0870.
