Clarksville’s Dunbar Cave State Park Programs for March 26th – 31st, 2016

Dunbar Cave State Park - Clarksville TNClarksville, TNDunbar Cave State Natural Area has been a State Park since 1973. The cave and its surrounding 110 acres have considerable scenic, natural and historical significance. The entrance offered shelter to prehistoric Native Americans as far back as 10,000 years.

Dunbar Cave State Natural Area will present many nature programs during the year. There are programs for children and adults.

Some of the upcoming events include: Evening Hike, Wildflower Hike, Bird Hike, Walk with the Ranger and Trail of Tears at Port Royal.

Saturday, March 26th

Evening Hike

Time: 6:00pm – 7:00pm
Ages: All ages

Enjoy the park right before we close for the night, a good time to see animals and maybe hear owls and frogs.

Reservations by: 4:30pm, March 24th.

Sunday, March 27th

Day into Night Hike

Time: 6:30pm – 7:30pm
Ages: All ages

Walk the trail as the sun set and darkness rises, a good time to see animals and maybe hear owls and frogs.

Reservations by: 4:30pm, March 25th.

Monday, March 28th

Wildflower Hike

Time: 10:00am – 12:00pm
Ages: 10 – adult

Learn to identify the wildflowers blooming on the Short Loop Trail.

Reservations by: 4:30pm, March 26th.

Tuesday, March 29th

Bird Hike

Time: 8:00am – 10:00am
Ages: Adults

Bring binoculars and learn the birds that call this area home.

Walk with the Ranger

Time: 10:00am – 11:00am
Ages: All Ages

Enjoy a walk through the woods as we enjoy a spring day.

Wildflower Hike

Time: 1:00pm – 2:30pm
Ages: Adults

Thursday, March 31st

Trail of Tears at Port Royal

Time: 9:00am – 10:00am
Ages: 8 – adult

Join us for a walk on the Trail of Tears. Meet at the River Bottom Trail parking lot.

Wildflower Stroll

Time: 4:00pm – 5:00pm
Ages: 10 – adult

Learn to identify the wildflowers on this easy walk around the grounds.

Dunbar Cave State Park Programs Information

Programs are free unless noted otherwise. All programs require reservations by the Deadline Listed. Programs with no reservations by the deadline will be canceled.

All programs begin at the Visitor Center unless another site is listed.

Children must be accompanied by an adult (one adult for each three children).

Age limits are definite – please do not sign up a child who is younger or older than the age limits given.

Dunbar Cave State Park is located at 401 Old Dunbar Cave Road, Clarksville Tennessee.

Port Royal State Historic Park is located at 3300 Old Clarksville Springfield Road, Adams, Tennessee.
