APSU Women’s Basketball defeats Christian Brothers 73-50

APSU Women's BasketballClarksville, TN – Overcoming a 15-point first-half deficit, Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team downed Christian Brothers 73-50 to earn their first win of the 2017-18 season Tuesday night at the Dunn Center.

Austin Peay (1-1) came out cold from the field scoring only four points in the first quarter, to give the Lady Bucs a 10-point lead.

Nashville Predators Defeat Washington Capitals 6-3

 

Nashville PredatorsNashville, TN – The Nashville Predators put on a scoring clinic at Bridgestone Arena tonight against their former coach Barry Trotz and his Washington Capitals, with a 6-3 win. It was Nashville’s fifth win in a row.

Sporting one of the top defenses in the league, Nashville showed they can score with the best of them.

Craig Smith opened the scoring for Nashville at 11:48 on the first period.  

Nick Bonino returned to the lineup for Nashville after missing 11 games, scoring at 17:43 of the first period and the Preds were leading 2-0.

Clarksville Civil War RoundtableClarksville, TN – The next meeting of the Clarksville (TN) Civil War Roundtable will be on Wednesday, November 15th, 2017 at the Bone & Joint Center, 980 Professional Park Drive, right across the street from Tennova Healthcare. This is just off Dunlop Lane and Holiday Drive and only a few minutes east of Governor’s Square mall.

The meeting begins at 7:00pm and is always open to the public. Members please bring a friend or two – new recruits are always welcomed.

AAA reports Gas Prices Plateau after Unseasonable Jump at the Pump

 

Clarksville-Montgomery County has the Second Cheapest Gas Prices in Tennessee

AAANashville, TN Gas prices plateaued over the weekend, after an unseasonable jump at the pump last week. Tennessee gas prices rose an average of 8 cents in 10 days. Some of the highest weekly hikes were in Knoxville (9 cents), Morristown (7 cents), Chattanooga (7 cents) and Cleveland (7 cents). 

The state average’s steady climb came to a crawl over the weekend. Tennessee gas prices averaged $2.34 on Sunday, just fractions of a penny less than the day before. The state average is 6 cents more than a week ago and 31 cents more than last year.

Clarksville Police Department Scams of the Day for November 14th, 2017

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department is going to make the public aware of some of the scams that they receive daily. CPD knows there are an unlimited amounts of scams, but they are going to try and put out the ones where people have actually suffered a loss.

Scam #1 – Victim received a call from the court house stating if she does not pay $670.49 due to a transaction associated with a financial institution payment a warrant would be taken out for her husband’s arrest.
