Clarksville Parks and Recreation Community Centers debut New Programs

Clarksville Parks and Recreation Offerings include fitness, life skills for teens, cake decorating

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department is offering a full slate of programs for youth and adults at its three Community Centers in the coming weeks.

Many of these are first-time programs.

Youth Yoga

Movement, breathwork, balance and basic yoga poses are introduced in a fun, friendly manner. This program is 6:00pm to 7:00pm. Tuesdays and Thursdays from May 29th to June 28th at the Crow Community Center. The cost is $30.00 and pre-registration is required. Available to ages 7-16.

Fit Mommy

This new fitness program is designed to help moms regain or enhance their pre-pregnancy fitness level through this total body workout over a 30-minute time period. This program is held 6:00pm to 6:30pm. Tuesdays and Thursdays from May 15h to August 2nd at the Kleeman Community Center. The cost is $60.00 and pre-registration is required. Available to adults 18 and older.

Youth Taekwondo

Learn Taekwondo, a martial arts discipline. Participants will be taught self-confidence, responsibility, discipline, loyalty and respect. This new program is held from 5:00pm to 5:50pm (Ages 3-6) and 6:00pm to 6:50pm (Ages 7-12) Tuesdays and Thursdays from May 3rd to August 30th at the Crow Community Center. The cost is $50.00 and pre-registration is required. Available to ages 3-12.

Basics of Cake Decorating

Learn how to beautifully decorate cakes with basic buttercream techniques. Participants will receive three hours of instruction along with a take-home cake decorating kit. This class till take place from 10:00am to 1:00pm Saturday, June 2nd at the Kleeman Community Center. The cost is $30.00 and pre-registration is required. Available to ages 16 and older.

Life Skills for Young Men

Calling all teen males! Get a jump start on being a productive adult by participating in this free six-week program. Local guest speakers will speak on topics such as personal hygiene, teamwork, respect and personal vision tips for excelling in school and job interviews.

This program is from 4:00pm to 5:15pm. Tuesdays and Thursdays May 8th-24th at the Burt-Cobb Community Center. This program is for boys, ages 10-18 and is free with recreation center membership.
