Clarksville, TN – The Board of Directors of the Gateway Chamber Orchestra recognized Dave Farris and Tom Perry, the first recipients of the newly established Dee Boaz Crescendo Award at the annual Maestro’s Moonlight & Mistletoe Gala on December 13th, 2019.
The Dee Boaz Crescendo Award, named in honor of the original champion of the GCO, recognizes an individual’s support and dedication to the growth and sustainability of the Gateway Chamber Orchestra.
This year’s honorees include Dave Farris, current GCO Board Treasurer. He was recognized for his three dedicated years of service as President of the Board of Directors and his efforts advancing the GCO to new heights. Tom Perry, the Board’s former President, was also recognized for his countless hours creating a strong infrastructure and sound for the organization.
Discussing the first Dee Boaz Crescendo Award recipients, Gregory Wolynec explained, “This award was something that we have had in mind for a period of time – the need to recognize individuals who have given so selflessly for the advancement of our mission. The award clearly needed to be named in Dee’s honor and Dave and Tom had to be our first recipients based on their sustained efforts to grow the organization.”
