Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, October 15th, 2022 Austin Peay State University (APSU) President Mike Licari surprised a crowd of potential students when he announced several new initiatives aimed at getting them through college faster, at a lower cost, and with more enriching experiences.

After touring the campus, meeting faculty and seeing how the University could foster their potential, the students learned about three new programs – The Austin Peay Experience, the Govs Guarantee 2023 and the Alumni Legacy Scholarship.
The Austin Peay Experience
- Four-year Graduation Guarantee
Beginning with the Fall 2023 semester, Austin Peay State University guarantees freshmen will graduate in four years. If the students follow their program’s requirements but are still unable to graduate on time, the University will pay whatever tuition remains for them to complete their degree.

- $2,000 Experience Grants
These new grants will provide incoming freshmen and transfer students with an additional $2,000 to study abroad, participate in internships, develop innovative research or explore other learning opportunities beyond the traditional classroom.

Govs Guarantee 2023
If a student enrolls now as a first-year freshman at Austin Peay State University for the 2023-24 academic year, they will receive this year’s tuition rate for next fall. That means no surprises, no unexpected fees.

Alumni Legacy Scholarship
The Alumni Legacy Scholarship honors those families who, over several generations, have found a home at this University. Beginning with in the summer of 2023, the University will award $1,000 to legacy students.
These first-time, full-time freshmen and transfer students will be eligible for this scholarship if they are the child, grandchild or sibling of an APSU alum. This includes the children of step-, biological and adoptive parents.
