Downtown Artists Co-op holds annual Regional Juried Photography Exhibition

Downtown Artists Co-opClarksville, TN – Downtown Artists Co-op recently hosted a reception for its annual Regional Juried Photography Exhibition.

This year’s show featured nearly one-hundred entries, presented in five categories; Abstract, Flora & Fauna, Object, People, and Place.

Dozens turned out for the much-anticipated event, enjoying appetizers and refreshments while awaiting the presentation of awards, which began at 6:30pm. For those unable to attend, the awards presentation was live-streamed on DAC’s Facebook page.

DAC’s Shane Moore read the list of winners, which included professionals and hobbyists. This year’s field featured many first-time participants. DAC member Jackie Lewis assisted Moore by handing out awards and cash prizes.

Abstract: 1st Place – Sandy Burr – Across the Lake, 2nd Place – Barb Cobb – Lose Yourself, 3rd Place – Barb Cobb – Odd Warmth.

Flora & Fauna: 1st Place – Clifton Whittaker – September Sunrise, 2nd Place – Clifton Whittaker – Looking for Seeds, 3rd Place – Derek Eades – Breakfast.

Object: Chuck Ritchie – 1st Place – Chrome & Patina, 2nd Place – Jane Moore – Praise and Peace, 3rd Place – Tony Centonze – Nato Dal Fuoco (Born of Fire).

People: 1st Place – Joshua Holman – The Sun in Her Eyes, 2nd Place – Jane Moore – My Thoughts are My Own, 3rd Place – Amir Aghareb – Balance.

Place: 1st Place – Gregory Wolynec – Evening at Haystack Rock, 2nd Place – Tony Centonze Ora D’oro (Golden Hour), 3rd Place – Casey Hall – Looming Tornado Weather.

This year’s Best of Show winner, from the Object category, was Josh Vaughn’s Fortress, an amazing image of the historic B-17 Flying Fortress “Texas Raider” which crashed at the Wings Over Dallas airshow in November 2022.

Vaughn’s image and all the rest can be seen throughout the month of February at the DAC, 96 Franklin Street, Clarksville Tennessee.
