Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) head men’s tennis coach Kurt Kujawa announced the Governors’ six-match fall schedule on Monday.
The Governors’ fall slate features four away matches, including the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship, with two home matches.
“As the new head coach with four new talented student-athletes joining our program of experienced men, I am enthusiastic about what lies ahead”. Kujawa said. “We have a solid fall schedule lined up to help prepare and improve for the spring season. I’m very optimistic about this coming season”.
The Governors start their season at home with the Brian Coons Fall Tournament, September 5th-6th, at the Governors’ tennis courts, where they will face Tennessee Tech, Alabama A&M, and Southern Indiana. In the 2024-2025 season, the Govs earned four singles and five doubles wins on the final day of the Brian Coons Fall Tournament.
After its home tournament, Austin Peay State University participates in Cumberland’s Cumberland Invitational, September 14th, in Lebanon, Tennessee. The Govs last participated in Cumberland’s event in 2023-24, winning 14 matches at the Tommy Gray Memorial Courts.
The Governors are back at home with a doubleheader against Oakland City for their final home match of the 2025 fall season, September 16th. Last year in the fall opener, the Govs picked up 12 singles and six doubles wins.
Taking the road again, the Governors will travel to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Ohio Valley Regionals, October 9th-12th, in West Lafayette, Indiana.
Following the ITA’s event, the APSU Govs head south for Chattanooga’s Santa Baras Invite, October 24th-26th, in Chattanooga. Lastly, the team wraps up wraps up its fall season at The ASUN Championship, October 24th-26th, will conclude the fall season in Jacksonville, Florida.
