Clarksville Obituary: Aline Pearl Self

July 23rd, 1945 — October 11th, 2025

McReynolds Nave and LarsonClarksville, TN – Aline Pearl Self, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away peacefully on October 11th, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on July 23rd, 1945, Aline lived a life marked by kindness, warmth, and an unwavering love for her family.

Aline dedicated a significant portion of her life to her career, retiring from Acme Boot and Tennsco, where she was known as a dedicated worker.

It was her role as a wife, mother, and grandmother that brought her the greatest joy. Aline’s family was her pride and comfort, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Her children, Greg (Heather) Self, Karen (Kenny) Brown, and Cindy Thurman, were the lights of her life, as were her grandchildren: Jason (Lorie) Crenshaw, Justin (Hollie) Crenshaw, Ashley (Ryan) Caufield, Khristin Wilk, Cody (Elizabeth) Brown, Rayna (Jessie Peck) Crouse, Matthew Crouse, Kendall Self, and Nathaniel Self. Additionally, Aline was blessed with 14 great-grandchildren who brought her endless joy, each holding a special place in her heart. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Sam Self.

In her younger years, Aline, along with her husband Sam, embraced the spirit of adventure, finding joy together in camping, traveling, and trying new foods. Everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her affectionately called her “Granny,” a title she wore with pride, embodying the nurturing and loving essence of family.

Aline was a friend to all who needed her, offering kindness and support without reservation. Aline will be remembered for her loving nature, her ability to make everyone feel special, and the warmth that surrounded her like a comforting embrace.

Aline is reunited in eternal peace with her parents, William and Evie Baggett Clark. The legacy she leaves behind is one of love, compassion, and the importance of family ties.

A visitation will be held on October 15th, 2025, from 12:00pm to 2:00pm, followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00pm, both taking place at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home, located at 1209 Madison Street, Clarksville, TN 37040. Rev. James Green will be officiating, and burial will immediately follow at Center Point Cemetery.
