Austin Peay State University graduate student Celeste Malone lands highly competitive Twitter editorial internship

 

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – Since 2009, Celeste Malone has been an active Twitter user. From watching live broadcasts to simply tweeting, there is always something for her to explore.

This summer, the APSU Communication graduate student will be using her Twitter and news reporting skills for Periscope — Twitter subsidiary — as an editorial intern in San Francisco, California. She was selected out of 65,000 applications for the position.

OVC Digital Network launches new features in its 4th year

Ohio Valley Conference - OVCBrentwood, TN – After a successful first three years that saw over 2,000 events streamed for free and over 1,000,000 views, the OVC Digital Network (www.OVCDigitalNetwork.com) is gearing up for year number four.

The first regular season soccer and volleyball matches opened the network’s fourth season in August. The 2015 football season kicks off in September with four gridiron contests set to be streamed.

Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUClarksville, TN – With finals in its rear-view mirror, Austin Peay women’s basketball team launches into its four-week Winter Break when it hosts Southern Illinois in a 1:00pm, Saturday contest at the Dunn Center.

The Lady Govs and Salukis will meet for the fourth time in the last five seasons. Austin Peay has won the last two outings, including last season’s 71-69 victory that was its first-ever “W” in Carbondale, IL.

How To Run For Elected Office Forum

 

A “How To Run For Elected Office Forum” is being held by by the Urban Resource Center on January 26, 2010 at the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library (350 Pageant Lane) from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

With more than 40 elected positions up for grabs this forum hopes to get more people interested in running for public office by providing a basic education of how does one become a candidate, the basics of running a campaign, the effectiveness of using social networks like Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, or any of their favorite social network tools and much more.

During the last election season technology was heavy used by all sides of the political spectrum, and was was highly successful in energizing and recruiting younger voters. The objective of the forum is to achieve the same thing. «Read the rest of this article»
