Clarksville, TN – The award-winning broadcast journalist Soledad O’Brien doesn’t shy away from difficult subjects. Her reporting on Haitian orphanages following a massive earthquake in that country earned her an Emmy, and her work for CNN during Hurricane Katrina brought her and the network a George Foster Peabody Award.
At 7:00pm on March 25th, O’Brien will speak at the Memorial Health Gym (Red Barn) on the Austin Peay State University campus as part of the annual Student Affairs Unity Celebration. O’Brien will deliver a speech titled “Diversity: On TV, Behind the Scenes and In Our Lives.”

Austin Peay State University ‘True Colors’ Homecoming 2012 is October 24th-27th

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University will celebrate Homecoming 2012 with the theme, “True Colors.”
Homecoming is October 24th-27th. Here is a list of events planned as part of the week long celebration. Many of the events are open to the public.
Some of the events include a Student Talent Show, Golf Tournament, Alumni Receptions, 5K Run, Homecoming Parade, Homecoming Football game and so much more.

Clarksville, TN – Lt. Col. Robert Gordon, chair of the Austin Peay State University Department of Military Science and Leadership, presented Col. Paul Bontrager with a plaque honoring his service with the APSU Reserve Officers’ Training Corps Governors Guard Battalion December 1st.

Austin Peay State University to celebrate 40-year anniversary of the ROTC

Clarksville, TN – In 1971, the U.S. Army established at Austin Peay State University the Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) for recruiting, training and commissioning future Army officers.
In the 40 years since, hundreds of cadets have been commissioned at APSU as second lieutenants in the Army. The program also has earned the reputation as one of the nation’s finest, having won several awards for training and management performance standards.
