Nashville, TN – The Nashville Predators hosted the Edmonton Oilers tonight and for the first fifty minutes, it was a back and forth affair.
The Predators fought back from a two goal deficit after the first period, then fought back from a one goal deficit and just when the game was tied 3-3 and you thought you were in for a wild finish, nobody expected what happened next.
Edmonton went on a five goal onslaught against the Predators, chasing Pekka Rinne from the game and embarrassing the home team with a final score of 8-3.
Ottawa, Ontario – The Nashville Predators were a tale of two teams tonight, pulling themselves out of a second period hole to pull even in tonight’s game against the Ottawa Senators, only to fall short in the over-time, 5-4.
Nashville has managed to pick up 5 points on this four game road trip so far and have a date with the Boston Bruins on Saturday night.
The Predators got off to a hot start in the first period with 17 shots on goal and a 1-0 lead at the end of the period. Craig Smith who has scored three goals in his last two games put the Predators on the board at 11:16 taking a pass behind the net and beating Marcus Hogberg for the early marker.
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Predators won a hard fought battle with their hated rivals, the San Jose Sharks, at Bridgestone Arena, 3-1. The game was peppered with multiple penalties on both teams, and an epic performance in goal from Juuse Saros for the Predators.
These two teams absolutely don’t like each other and it showed tonight. Nashville’s Austin Watson and San Jose’s Evander Kane both received game misconduct penalties for altercations during the second period.
Nashville was called for 39 minutes of penalty time while San Jose spent 33 minutes in the penalty box.
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Predators are desperately needing wins, but tonight wouldn’t be that night as the Tampa Bay Lightning came to town and beat the Predators in over-time, 3-2.
The Predators are just outside the discussion of play-off hockey and need to start collecting points, but in this “big boy” hockey game tonight, (as described by NBCSN) it was not to be.
All was not lost though as the Predators managed to pick up a point as the two teams were tied through regulation.
St. Louis, MO – The Nashville Predators left it all on the ice tonight to thwart a late game comeback attempt by the defending Stanley Cup Champions to defeat the St. Louis Blues, 4-2.
Mired in a terrible losing streak, the Predators faced the daunting task of facing the Blues on their home ice tonight in hopes of getting the monkey off of their back, and getting a win.
Filip Forsberg showed how important it is to get on the board first, when he opened the Predators scoring just 20 seconds into the game, passing a wrist shot past Blues goalie Jordan Bennington for the early 1-0 lead.
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Predators can’t seem to break out of their slump as they fall to the Vancouver Canucks, 6-3.
A series of bad breaks, and undisciplined penalties, afforded Vancouver the opportunity to score at will on the power play to defeat the Predators tonight.
Nashville out shot their opponent, 48-23, but couldn’t find the back of the net against Jacob Markstrom in goal for the Canucks.
Pekka Rinne was pulled by the Predators to start the third period in favor of Juuse Saros, who held Vancouver scoreless in the final frame. The only score for Vancouver coming on an empty netter for the final score.
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Predators held a three goal lead after two periods of play, only to fall in overtime to the Calgary Flames, 6-5 in Nashville. It was a stunned Smashville crowd that headed for the exits when Mathew Tkachuk slipped the game winner past Pekka Rinne as the buzzer sounded to end the extra period.
The Predators were in full command of this one right from the start. Nick Bonino continued his scoring onslaught as he gave Nashville the early 1-0 lead, just 5:33 into the opening period. The Bonino backhand slipped past David Rittich and that gave Bonino four goals in his last four shots, including the hat trick on Tuesday night against the Blackhawks.
Tampa, FL – The Nashville Predators picked up a huge road win tonight as they defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning 3-2.
The Predators were led by their captain Roman Josi, who scored the game tying goal to send the game to overtime.
Nashville was without Filip Forsberg for the fifth straight game and Matt Duchene, injured on Thursday night, both with lower body injuries.
The Predators scored first at 14:24 of the opening period when Callie Jarnkrok beat Lightning goalie Curtis McElhinney for the early 1-0 lead.
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Predators put on a powerful display of goal scoring tonight against the visiting Anaheim Ducks in a lopsided win, 6-1. Nashville got goals from six different players tonight, and Pekka Rinne put on a clinic in goal for the Predators.
THE CAPTAIN Roman Josi got the scoring started at 11:23 of the first period as the Predators had the two man advantage, with a quick wrist shot that beat John Gibson for the early 1-0 lead.
Colton Sissons then put the Predators up 2-0 when he stepped out of the penalty box and grabbed the puck and drove to the net to beat Gibson for the score at 16:19 of the period.
Las Vegas, NV – The Nashville Predators put on a dominating performance tonight in Sin City, defeating the Las Vegas Golden Knights, 5-2 to pick up their first road win of the season.
Kyle Turris got things started at just 2:14 of the opening period on a tip-in from Ryan Ellis to give Nashville the early 1-0 lead. Rocco Grimaldi also assisted on the goal.
Vegas came right back at 9:55 when Mark Stone snapped a shot past Pekka Rinne for the equalizer, 1-1. Then, Reilly Smith put the Golden Knights up 2-1 with a goal at 17:23, and suddenly the momentum was in favor of the home team.
