Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office promotes Five Officers

 

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOClarksville, TN – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) recently held a promotion ceremony for five officers.

MCSO would like to congratulate Carlos Silva on his promotion to Lieutenant; Novelle Flippen, Jeffrey Holland, and Andrew Sparks on their promotion to Sergeant; and Tim Harp’s promotion to Corporal.

Lieutenant Carlos Silva began his career with the Sheriff’s Office in September 2001 as a Jail Deputy. Since then he has worked in Court Security, Patrol, and the Drug Task Force. In 2010 he transferred to the SRO Program and in 2015 he was promoted to Sergeant. Lieutenant Silva brings nearly 18 diverse years of service to his new position as the SRO Lieutenant.

Clarksville Elementary School Student comes to School with Marijuana

 

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOClarksville, TN – School Resource Officers (SRO) with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) have arrested a Clarksville woman after her son brought marijuana to school.

Liberty Elementary School administration confiscated a green plant from an 8-year-old student early Friday morning. The plant was turned over to SRO Chad Smith who confirmed it was marijuana.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office announces School Resource Officers Division receives new Mascot

 

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOClarksville, TN – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) is proud to announce the newest member to the School Resource Officers (SRO) Division. Mascot “Copper the K-9” has officially reported for duty.

Sergeant Carlos Silva and SRO Chad Smith discussed having an official mascot at the beginning of the school year. Deputy Smith, who already owned a K-9 costume, said he would be willing to donate his costume to the SRO Division. After long discussions and planning sessions between Smith, Silva, and Montgomery County Sheriff John Fuson, the mascot was developed.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office reports SRO teamwork halts High School Football game Shooting Threat

 

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOMontgomery County, TN – A man who made threats through social media early Friday, October 24th, about committing a shooting at a football game was quickly apprehended at Clarksville High School.

Around noon Friday, SRO Deputy Jesse James received a tip of possible threats from a man who planned to show up to a high school football game and commit a shooting.

“The threats couldn’t be directly confirmed, but we take every threat to citizen safety seriously,” said Montgomery County Sheriff John Fuson.
