101st Airborne Division, Coalition celebrate Independence Day

Fort Campbell KY - 101st Airborne DivisionBaghdad, Iraq – When 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) service members started their day Saturday morning, “Cover Down,” part of the 101st Band, was already playing popular music. Shortly after 6:00am, personnel from 101st, sister services and Coalition were getting covered in colors – blue, green, red, orange, pink, purple and yellow.

The USO-sponsored 5K color run started off an early celebration of Independence Day, which began a day of activities for service members deployed in support of Combined Joint Forces Land Component Command – Operation Inherent Resolve, led by the 101st at Forward Operating Base Union III, Baghdad.

Clarksville celebrates Independence Day with a Bang

 

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – Live music, games, great food and of course fireworks were the highlight of the City of Clarksville’s eighth annual Independence Day Celebration at Liberty Park held Friday, July 3rd, 2015.

“Tonight is our July 3rd Independence Day celebration,” stated Clarksville Parks and Recreation Special Events Supervisor Jessica Goldberg. “We have great music and lots of food. It’s just a great family event.”

Fort Campbell celebrates the birth of our nation with a bang!

 

Fort Campbell KY - 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell's Morale, Welfare and Recreation - MWRFort Campbell, KY – Fort Campbell and the surrounding communities came together to celebrate the 4th of July, Independence Day with a bang at Fort Campbell’s USAA and MWR’s (Morale, Welfare and Recreation) Independence Day Carnival and Fireworks display.

“This is what we’re here for! We’re here to celebrate the birth of our nation, our soldiers and their families, and our civilians workers. They give so much to us and this is our way of giving back to them especially today on our nation’s birthday,” said Rayna Holly from the Fort Campbell Public Affiars Office.

Clarksville kicks off 4th of July with seventh annual Independence Day Celebration, July 3rd, 2014

 

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – On Thursday, July 3rd, thousands of Clarksvillians made their way to Liberty Park for the City of Clarksville’s seventh annual Independence Day Celebration. Attendees enjoyed live music, drinks, and food such as funnel cakes, hotdogs, and other festival favorites.

The evening got started with the presentation of the colors and  Staff Sergeant Scott Letourneau of the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment singing the National Anthem.

City of Clarksville’s Independence Day Celebration to take place at Liberty Park July 3rd

 

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville is celebrating our nation’s independence this year with the seventh annual Independence Day Celebration on Thursday, July 3rd, 2014 at Liberty Park for food, fun and entertainment for the entire family.

The event is free and begins at 6:30pm. Seating is available throughout the park and the concerts will take place on the Great Lawn of the Wilma Rudolph Event Center.

Special Concert with Big & Rich opened the 2014 Week of the Eagles at Fort Campbell on Friday

 

2014 Fort Campbell Week of the EaglesFort Campbell, KY – The 2014 Week of the Eagles Celebration kicked off on Friday with a Division Run and the Week of the Eagles Concert headlined by Big and Rich with Special Guest Cowboy Troy, Joe Diffie, and Mallory Hope. Sporting events and athletic competitions continue throughout the week, and the 2014 Week of the Eagles closes out on Thursday with the 101st Airborne Division Review.

As things kicked off Clarksville Online spoke with Melissa Schaffner, the Marketing Manager for the Fort Campbell Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR). “We’ve got a great lineup for this evening! We started out with Cover Down, the 101st Airborne Division Rock Band; following them will be Mallory Hope an up-and-coming artists out of Nashville; then we will have Joe Diffie, a big country music star during the 90s, who is making a repeat visit to Fort Campbell; and our headliner tonight will be Big and Rich with special guest Cowboy Troy, personal favorite of mine! I love Big and Rich so I’m really excited about this show.”

Rivers and Spires FestivalClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville is holding the 12th annual Rivers and Spires Festival in Historic Downtown Clarksville Tennessee this weekend. Running Thursday, April 24th through Saturday, April 26th. The Festival promises to be bigger and better than ever!

With the arrival of spring each year Clarksvillians began to look forward to this three-day long musical extravaganza. The Festival will be headlined on Saturday night by ACM and CMA award-nominated country musician Randy Houser. He will perform some of his biggest hits, including “Goodnight Kiss”, “How Country Feels”, “Boots On” and “Runnin’ Outta Moonlight,” this will make for a concert you do not want to miss.
