Nashville Sounds snap losing streak with 11-5 win over Omaha Storm Chasers

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds snapped their four-game losing streak in a big way on Saturday evening at Greer Stadium, defeating the division-leading Omaha Storm Chasers, 11-5, in the opener of a four-game series.

Nashville (5-9) erupted for season highs of 11 runs and 14 hits in the victory. Cole Garner highlighted the offensive outburst with a seventh-inning grand slam, the outfielder’s team-leading fourth home run of the year. Scooter Gennett added three hits and three runs scored for the Sounds.

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds split a doubleheader with the division-rival Omaha Storm Chasers on Saturday evening at Greer Stadium, losing the opener, 8-0, and winning the nightcap, 10-3.

The doubleheader split was Nashville’s third of the season, as the club moved to 4-6 in doubleheader action.

Nashville batted around and exploded for seven runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take a 10-3 win over the Omaha Storm Chasers in the nightcap of the doubleheader.

Nashville (8-18) took three of the four during the series, however, and have won four of their last five contests as they prepare to embark upon their third road trip of the season.

Nashville Sounds Walk Off Again to beat Omaha Storm Chasers 5-4 and get Fourth Straight Win

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – Corey Patterson delivered a walk-off double in the bottom of the 11th inning to give the Nashville Sounds a 5-4 victory over the division-leading Omaha Storm Chasers on Wednesday afternoon at Greer Stadium.

With two outs, second baseman Eric Farris reached on an infield single and hurried around the bases as Patterson lined his second double of the game to the wall in right center for the club’s fourth straight victory.

Nashville Losing Streak Extends to Nine with Loss to Division Leaders

Nashville SoundsPapillion, NE – The Nashville Sounds’ early-season woes continued on Tuesday afternoon at Werner Park as the club dropped its ninth straight game, a 5-3 defeat at the hands of the division-leading Omaha Storm Chasers in the finale of a four-game series.

Nashville (4-16), which has been swept in consecutive four-game series by the Oklahoma City RedHawks and Omaha, has matched the longest losing streak in the franchise’s Pacific Coast League era (1998-present) with its current nine-game skid.

Nashville Sounds lose to Omaha Storm Chasers 6-5

 

Nashville SoundsPapillion, NE – Outfielder Jarrod Dyson hit a bases loaded single in the bottom of the 13th inning to give the Omaha Storm Chasers a 6-5 victory over the Nashville Sounds in the opener of a four-game set at Werner Park on Saturday night.

In his first pitching appearance of his professional career, Erick Almonte began the 13th inning by walking the leadoff batter and allowing a single to Terry Evans. Cody Clark then bunted to Almonte (0-1), but reached on a fielding error. In the ensuing at-bat, Nashville brought in five infielders but Dyson knocked the game-winning hit up the middle to end the marathon.
