Nashville Sounds

Nashville SoundsOklahoma City, OK – The Nashville Sounds blasted three home runs in a come-from-behind 9-8 win over the Oklahoma City Dodgers Wednesday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

Chris Parmelee, Ryan Lavarnway, and Matt Olson all launched homers to erase a 6-2 deficit and allow the Sounds (5-8) to win consecutive games for only the second time in 2017.

Parmelee’s blast gave the Sounds an early 2-0 lead in the first inning, but starter Daniel Gossett couldn’t hold the advantage. The Dodgers (7-7) scored a run in the first, and then exploded for four in the second to take a controlling 5-2 lead after a pair of innings.

Nashville Sounds fall late to Oklahoma City Dodgers in front of Sellout Crowd

Nashville Sounds

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Oklahoma City Dodgers spoiled the first sellout of the 2017 season at First Tennessee Park with a 3-2 win over the Nashville Sounds in front of 10,717 fans Friday night.

With the score even at 1-1 in the eighth inning, Oklahoma City’s Alex Verdugo lifted a fly ball in the direction of Nashville’s Matt McBride. The ball glanced off the left fielder’s glove and allowed two runners to score on the E-7.

Bobby Wahl limited the damage to the two unearned runs, but it was enough for the Dodgers. Matt Olson launched a solo homer in the bottom of the ninth but the comeback fell short.

Sounds avoid back-to-back shutout losses with run in eighth inning

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds’ bats remained silent for the second consecutive night as they were defeated 8-1 by the Oklahoma City Dodgers. The Sounds lit up the scoreboard in the eighth inning to snap a streak of 16 consecutive innings without scoring a run.

Justin Masterson (1-0, 2.25) was masterful on the mound for the Dodgers (4-4).  The Sounds (3-5) had no answer for the 32-year-old who gave up just two hits in five innings of work and fanned five batters on just 69 pitches.

The Dodgers opened the scoring in the second inning off Zach Neal (0-1, 4.15) when third baseman, Rob Segedin, led off the inning with a base hit and came around to score on a Brett Eibner sacrifice fly to left field.
