101st Airborne Division Task Force Strike Soldiers and Aviation units refine sling load skills

Taji, Iraq – Soldiers from Task Force Strike, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and pilots from Company B, 1st Battalion, 168th Aviation Brigade refined their sling load skills at Camp Taji, Iraq, July 15th.

As the U.S. Army’s only Air Assault division, the 101st is trained and equipped to conduct operations to rapidly move around the battlefield.

Fort Campbell 716th Military Police Battalion Soldiers celebrate Veterans Day with Students

Clarksville, TN – As students packed into the gym at West Creek Middle School in Clarksville, Friday, months of planning had finally came to fruition.

The school’s administration had worked closely with Soldiers from the 716th Military Police Battalion, 16th Military Police Brigade, supported by the 101st Sustainment Brigade, 101st Airborne Division, to give the students something special for Veterans Day.

The students, West Creek Middle School’s faculty, members of the 716th MP Bn., veterans, and community members gathered for a patriotic ceremony honoring Veterans Day.

584th Support Maintenance Company conducts sling load training at Fort Campbell

Fort Campbell, KY – Soldiers from the 584th Support Maintenance Company, 129th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 101st Sustainment Brigade, 101st Airborne Division, conducted Air Assault operations training September 3rd, at Fort Campbell, KY.

The unit worked with aviators from Company B, 6th Battalion, 101st Combat Aviation Brigade, 101st Abn. Div., during the training.

Fort Campbell’s 716th Military Police Battalion holds Peacekeeper Challenge to honor Fallen Warriors

Fort Campbell, KY – On August 27th, 2011, Spc. Michael C. Roberts died in combat in Kandahar province, Afghanistan. Only a week later, on September 3rd, Spc. Christopher J. Scott would also die in combat in Kandahar.

Both men were in their early 20s and each one gave all they had serving the nation during Operation Enduring Freedom. Both men were also part of the 716th Military Police Battalion, one of the most storied and highly decorated military police battalions in the U.S. Army.
