TWRA to take part in 2020 National Safe Boating Week, May 16th-22nd

 

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - TWRANashville, TN – The 2020 National Safe Boating Week is May 16th-22nd and the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) will be participating to promote the wear of life jackets as the summer boating season starts in full force.

National Safe Boating Week is annually held the week prior to Memorial Day weekend. Boating partners across the United States and Canada are teaming to promote safe boating practices, including the wear of life jackets for National Safe Boating Week and throughout the 2020 boating season.

Clarksville, Montgomery County Mayors Sign Joint Proclamation for National Boat Safety Week

 

Montgomery County Government TennesseeMontgomery County, TN – City of Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts and Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett signed a National Safe Boating Week Joint Proclamation earlier this month declaring May 18th through May 24th, 2019 a special week, as the busy season of on the water activities begin and the public participates in many water-based recreational activities.

Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan and Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett proclaim Safe Boating Week

 

As season heats up, boaters urged to use caution

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan and Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett have proclaimed May 19th-25th, 2018 as Safe Boating Week.

The National Safe Boating Week proclamation notes that as the busy season of on-the-water recreation begins, all boaters are encouraged to wear life jackets, know the “Rules of the Road” on the water, boat responsibly and take a safe boating class.

Local mayors and Coast Guard Auxiliary officers gathered recently to proclaim May 19th-25th as Safe Boating Week and encourage residents to get water safety training. Taking part were Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan, Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett; and Coast Guard officers Dale Leighton, William Welty and Fred Gilman.

Mayors proclaim Safe Boating Week

 

As season heats up, boaters urged to use caution

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – Local government leaders and the United States Coast Guard and Auxiliary are urging residents to be safe on the water as Memorial Day and the summer boating season approaches.

Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan, Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett and Coast Guard officials gathered recently to sign a proclamation declaring May 20th-26th as National Safe Boating Week.
