Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission (TFWC) September meeting will include updates on deer harvest estimates from the August season, waterfowl crops on wildlife management areas (WMAs), and a boating report among the agenda items.
The meeting will be held September 24th-25th in Clarksville at the TownePlace Suites by Marriott. The first day meeting starts at 1:00pm Thursday, while the second day meeting begins at 9:00am Friday.
Hardeman County, TN – The Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission received an update on Asian carp among its agenda items at the final meeting of the calendar year which concluded Friday.
The TFWC met for the first time at Lone Oaks Farm in Hardeman County near Bolivar and Middleton, which is operated by the University of Tennessee.
Frank Fiss, Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency Fisheries Division chief, presented an update on Asian carp.
Clarksville, TN – Dunbar Cave State Natural Area has been a State Park since 1973. The cave and its surrounding 110 acres have considerable scenic, natural and historical significance. The entrance offered shelter to prehistoric Native Americans as far back as 10,000 years.
Dunbar Cave State Natural Area will present many nature programs during the year. There are programs for children and adults.
Some of the upcoming events include: Friends of Dunbar Cave Meeting, Bird Hike, Winter Trees and Sunset Hike.
Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency and the Young Sportsman Foundation, along with the support of local state chapters of the National Wild Turkey Federation, will host a youth-only turkey hunt on Saturday, March 22nd at the Cheatham Wildlife Management Area.
The annual hunt is for youth between the ages of 6-16 will be conducted on more than 20,000 acres of prime wild turkey habitat at Cheatham WMA. «Read the rest of this article»
Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency will serve as one of the sponsors for “Shoot for the Soldiers,” a sporting clay target shoot scheduled for August 24th at the Nashville Gun Club.
The event will raise funds with all the proceeds going to Tennessee soldiers and their families. Fort Campbell, KY – The National Wild Turkey Federation is bringing an exciting, new show to Nashville, Tennessee, and everyone is invited.
For the first time, NWTF members and active-duty military personnel will get free daily admission to the 35th annual NWTF National Convention and Sport Show on February 18th-20th.
“We’re excited to offer free daily admission to NWTF members as a way of thanking them for their support, and to members of the military to show appreciation for their service to our nation,” said George C. Thornton, NWTF CEO.
