Tennessee Department of Transportation announces I-40 Weekend Lane Closures in Cheatham County for Bridge Repair

 

Tennessee Department of Transportation - TDOTKingston Springs, TN – Starting June 14th, 2019 a Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) bridge repair project on the Beech Hill Road overpass at mile marker 189 will cause weekend delays on I-40. Drivers are asked to plan ahead.

The work will require lane closures for two weekends.

Dodging the Roadkill - A Biker's JourneyClarksville, TN – We all know that the biker’s code is to never leave a brother/sister behind.  Bikers are notorious for taking care of their own, but when total strangers step up to help a group of bikers, well, that’s pretty special.

Just today, four of us were out riding the beautiful Tennessee countryside.  Just rolling and riding on a February day that gave us some decent weather to do so.

We wound ourselves through Cheatham County, over to Pegram, then ultimately to Leipers Fork.  Just four guys who travel together and ride every chance we get.

National Weather Service has issued Tornado Warning for Montgomery County

 

Nashville, TN – The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Warning for South Central Montgomery County, Central Cheatham County, Dickson County, and East Central Humphreys County until 9:00pm CT.

At 8:22pm CT, the NWS Doppler Radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado. This dangerous storm was located 6 miles Northeast of McEwen, TN or 10 miles Northwest of Dickson, TN. The storm is moving Northeast at 65 MPH.

TDOT and TWRA Partner to Launch Park and Float Program

 

Program to Provide Improved Access to Tennessee Rivers and Streams

Tennessee Department of TransportationNashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Transportation and the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency are excited to announce the launch of a new program designed to improve access to Tennessee’s waterways. The Park and Float Program will increase recreational opportunities across the state by providing parking areas and access points at rivers and streams along the state’s roadways. 

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - TWRAUnder the Park and Float initiative, TDOT and TWRA established a list of candidate streams and rivers for the program. Some of the locations have been created at existing bridges, while others will be created when a TDOT bridge project is initiated on a stream or river on the Park and Float candidate waters list. Many of the newly created access areas will require minimal construction because bridge projects often have haul roads that will simply be left in place. «Read the rest of this article»
