Nashville Predators make trade deadline deals to shore up their run for the Stanley Cup

 

Nashville PredatorsNashville, TN – As the trade deadline loomed heavy on this day, just hours from being over for this NHL season, enter David Poile, the General Manager for this Nashville Predators franchise. 

Just in the last two weeks, he traded for Brian Boyle and Cody Mcleod, two hard hitting players whose roles would be to protect our stars and score when you can.

Nashville was excited to have Mcleod back in Nashville,  A very popular player when he was on the roster before, the music city hockey fans loved having him back.

Nashville Predators win shoot-out thriller against the Edmonton Oilers 3-2

 

Nashville PredatorsNashville, TN – The Nashville Predators pulled out the win in overtime tonight against the visiting Edmonton Oilers, 3-2.  The game went to a shoot-out where new acquired Brian Boyle scored the game winner to earn the Predators the valuable extra point.

In front of country superstar Garth Brooks and hockey legend Wayne Gretzky and a fired up Smashville crowd, the Predators did what they had to do and that was fight to the end.  

On a day that saw Nashville trade away Kevin Fiala and Ryan Hartman, for the services of Wayne Simmons and Mikael Granlund, the Predators are now set for a Stanley Cup playoff run.

Nashville Predators fall to the New York Rangers 4-3

 

Nashville PredatorsNashville, TN – The struggling Nashville Predators just can’t seem to find a way to win, falling tonight to the visiting New York Rangers, 4-3.

It was a back and forth affair with both teams trading punches and the lead throughout the game, but in the end, the Rangers, and their premier goalie, Henrik Lundqvist, leave Nashville with the win.

Mika Zibanejad started the scoring for New York at 2:42 of the opening frame on a tip in that beat Pekka Rinne for the early 1-0 lead.

Nashville Predators fall to the Philadelphia Flyers 2-1

 

Nashville PredatorsPhiladelphia, PA – The road woes continue for the Nashville Predators as they drop another road game to the Philadelphia Flyers tonight, 2-1.  Claude Giroux had the game winner for the Flyers who will be in Nashville on New Year’s Day.

The Predators continue to be hit by the injury bug as Colton Sissons was out of the line-up tonight after being helped off of the ice on Tuesday night against Chicago.

Filip Forsberg, Viktor Arvidsson, and P.K Subban have been on the injury list for several weeks, and their absence is beginning to strain this Nashville team.  The Predators recalled forward Tyler Gaudet today to join the team.

My Two Cents: Nashville Predators Win Thrilling Home Opener 6-5

 

My Two-Cents with Hank BonecutterNashville, TN – The Nashville Predators returned home after a sluggish start to the 2017-18 NHL season to defeat the Philadelphia Flyers 6-5, as Filip Forsberg sealed it with 35 seconds remaining to complete a miraculous comeback win at Bridgestone Arena.  

It wasn’t easy.

A sell out crowd was waiting for the defending Western Conference Champions, when former Predator Mike Fisher took the ice to help raise the championship banner.

Clarksville woman honored with Leavey Award of Excellence

 

Valley Forge, PA – Stewart County High School teacher, Connie Baggett was one of fifteen educators from schools throughout the United States presented with the Annual Leavey Awards for Excellence in Private Enterprise Education from the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge at a gala awards dinner at the Loews Hotel in Philadelphia March 17th.

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN — After enjoying a hard-earned victory last week over the Dallas Cowboys, the Tennessee Titans (3-2) take to the road for a crucial divisional bout with the Jacksonville Jaguars (3-2) on Monday Night Football. Kickoff at EverBank Field (capacity 67,246) is scheduled for 7:30pm CDT on Monday, October 18th.

The first of two annual Titans-Jaguars matchups looms large in the AFC South standings. After five weeks, the Titans, Jaguars, Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans are all tied with 3-2 records.
