Nashville’s Win Streak Snapped At Four

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Albuquerque Isotopes belted a pair of homers and plated five runs in the top of the thirteenth inning to post an 8-4 victory over the Nashville Sounds on Saturday evening at Greer Stadium in the completion of Friday night’s game that was suspended early Saturday morning.

All five runs came against Sounds right-hander Frankie De La Cruz (3-6), who took the loss for Nashville (43-50).

Sounds Sweep Isotopes in Doubleheader

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds posted a doubleheader sweep of the visiting Albuquerque Isotopes on Thursday night at Greer Stadium. The Sounds blanked the Isotopes, 5-0, in the opener and defeated Albuquerque, 4-2, in the twinbill nightcap.

With two victories on the evening, Nashville (43-49) moved to 6-4 in doubleheader play this season, while the sweep was Nashville’s first of this season and first since the Sounds took two from the Oklahoma City RedHawks on September 2nd, 2010.

Isotopes Silence Sounds Offense On Thursday Night In Albuquerque

 

Nashville SoundsAlbuquerque, NM – The Nashville Sounds were held to two hits by the Albuquerque Isotopes in a 5-1 loss on Thursday night at Isotopes Park in the opener of a four-game series.

Albuquerque starter Randy Keisler (5-4) earned the win and continued his dominance from the mound against the Sounds this season. The 35-year-old allowed one unearned run on just two hits and one walk in 6 2/3 innings. In two starts, Keisler has picked up two wins while recording a 0.66 ERA (1er/13.2ip) against Nashville.

Edwin Maysonet’s double and Mike Rivera’s single accounted for the club’s only two hits.

Sounds Lose 6-5 To Memphis In Extras

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds lost an extra-inning, 6-5 contest to division-rival Memphis Redbirds in the finale of a three-game series on Wednesday evening at Greer Stadium. Memphis plated the winning run on a Nashville fielding error in the top of the 13th inning, which snapped a streak of four errorless games for the Sounds.

Nashville (39-47) has played in a PCL-high 41 one-run games this season, going 18-23 in those contests. The Sounds’ 23 one-run losses are most in the PCL and account for nearly half of the club’s total defeats. Nashville also moved to 1-8 in extra-inning play.

Sounds Lose 5-2 In Albuquerque On Saturday Night

 

Nashville SoundsAlbuquerque, NM – The Nashville Sounds lost to the Albuquerque Isoptopes, 5-2, on Saturday evening at Isotopes Park in the third game of a four-game set. The loss was Nashville’s (27-34) third in the last four games.

Albuquerque starting pitcher Randy Keisler (2-2) allowed one run on a season-high seven innings pitched while fanning six for the win. The 35-year-old pitched also drove in the club’s first run from the dish.

Walkoff Blast Drops Sounds In Extras In Albuquerque, 7-6

 

Nashville SoundsAlbuquerque, NM – Trayvon Robinson hit a walkoff 10th inning home run to lift the Albuquerque Isotopes to 7-6 win over the Nashville Sounds on Friday evening at Isotopes Park.

Robinson’s 13th home run was his only hit of the game, as the outfielder blasted Sean Green’s (0-1) second pitch of the inning over the wall in centerfield to end the game.

Moving to 0-4 in extra-inning play this season, Nashville (27-33) never led game, but tied the contest three separate times.
