Tennessee Vols Football beats Southern Miss, 24-10

Tennessee took home its fourth consecutive Homecoming win as the Vols defeated Southern Miss, 24-10

Knoxville, TN – With the defense forcing two third-quarter turnovers and the offense converting those opportunities into 14 points, Tennessee broke open a tight game and surged past Southern Miss, 24-10, Saturday night in the annual Homecoming game at Neyland Stadium.

With an announced crowd of 95,551 on hand, UT improved to 4-5 on the season, thanks to a pair of rushing touchdowns from junior tailback John Kelly and another from redshirt freshman quarterback Jarrett Guarantano. With their second-straight loss, the Golden Eagles fell to 5-4 this season.

Tennessee Vols fall to Kentucky Wildcats 29-26

Lexington, KY – Tennessee came out strong against Kentucky as the Volunteers forced four fumbles in the game and rushed for a season-high 155 yards in the first half on Saturday, but the Wildcats held on for a 29-26 final at Kroger Field.

Tennessee (3-5, 0-5 SEC) now holds a 79-25-9 all-time record against Kentucky (6-2, 3-2 SEC), including a 37-15-3 record in Lexington.

Redshirt freshman quarterback Jarrett Guarantano completed 18 of 23 passes for a career-high 242 yards in a contest that turned into a battle between two young running back corps. Tennessee’s duo of freshman Ty Chandler and sophomore Carlin Fils-aime combined for 193 yards and two touchdowns while Kentucky sophomore Benny Snell ran for 180 yards and three touchdowns.

Knoxville, TN – Tennessee heads to Tuscaloosa to face No. 1/1 Alabama on Saturday at Bryant–Denny Stadium. The game will feature a 2:30pm CT kickoff on CBS.

Brad Nessler (play-by-play) and Gary Danielson (analyst) will be in the booth and Allie LaForce will report from the sidelines. Vol Network radio affiliates will have a live audio broadcast with Bob Kesling, Tim Priest and Brent Hubbs. Sirius Channel 138 and XM Channel 190 will also carry a live audio broadcast.

Tennessee (3-3, 0-3 SEC) is coming off a 15-9 home loss to South Carolina on October 14th.

Tennessee Vols Football beats Georgia Tech in Double Overtime Thriller

Atlanta, GA – Tennessee junior John Kelly dashed for four touchdowns and picked up 128 of UT’s 148 rushing yards on the ground en route to a double overtime victory against Georgia Tech in the Vols’ season opening Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game on Monday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Tennessee went into overtime for the second-consecutive season opener, using three rushes and an extra point by Aaron Medley to score in the first period after Georgia Tech crossed the plane on their possession to keep the game tied, 35-35.

#21 Tennessee Vols beat Nebraska Cornhuskers 38-24 in the Music City Bowl

Nashville, TN – Joshua Dobbs racked up 409 yards of total offense and four touchdowns, Derek Barnett set a new Tennessee sack record and the No. 21 Tennessee Volunteers took a 38-24 win over the Nebraska Cornhuskers in the 2016 Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl on Friday at Nissan Stadium.

Tennessee (9-4) led from start to finish and posted 521 yards of offense thanks to Dobbs’ outstanding career finale. Dobbs, who was named MVP of the game, ran for 118 yards and three scores on 11 carries and finished 23-of-38, throwing for 291 yards and one touchdown.

Tennessee Vols Football takes care of Missouri, 63-37

Knoxville, TN – In his final game at Neyland Stadium, senior quarterback Joshua Dobbs accounted for five touchdowns to lead the Tennessee Volunteers to a 63-37 victory over the Missouri Tigers on Saturday.

Dobbs passed for 223 yards and three touchdowns on Senior Day. He rushed for two more scores — including a career-long 70-yard breakaway touchdown gallop down the Missouri sideline — to finish with a career-best 413 total yards.

Tennessee Vols wins their ninth straight game and moves to 3-0 with a 28-19 win over Ohio

Knoxville, TN –  Josh Malone caught two touchdown passes from Joshua Dobbs as No. 15/15 Tennessee outlasted Ohio, 28-19, on Saturday afternoon in Neyland Stadium.

Dobbs finished 19-of-27 for 203 yards, two touchdowns and one interception and rushed 14 times for 59 yards and a score.

Malone matched his career high with five catches for 69 yards and two touchdowns.

The Vols (3-0) racked up 201 rushing yards. Alvin Kamara had 67 yards on 11 carries and Hurd finished with 61 yards and one touchdown on 15 carries.
