Clarksville, TN – Every week, Clarksville Online will bring you pets from rescue organizations that need good homes in Clarksville-Montgomery County and surrounding areas. This week’s pets are for the week of August 24th, 2026.
Dogs and cats of all ages, breeds, and sizes are available through area animal rescues and shelters. Additionally, there are opportunities to help homeless animals through foster programs, donations, and support for fundraisers and other family-friendly activities.

Montgomery County Animal Care and Control
Gilliagan is a young male German Shepherd. Fully vetted and neutered so he will be able to go home the same day. Also, please remember to check ALL breed restrictions and policies if renting or living on Post. Be prepared before adopting. Come visit.
Willow is a young female German Shepherd. Fully vetted and will be spayed before heading to her forever home. Come spend time with her in the yard.
Cora is a young female Pit Bull Terrier. Fully vetted, will be spayed before heading to her new home. Come take Cora out in the yard and spend time with this great girl.
Arthur is a young male Pit Bull Terrier mix. Fully vetted and will be neutered before heading to his forever family. Come spend time in the yard with this great little guy!
Sunbeam is a young male domestic medium hair kitten. Fully vetted, litter trained and will be neutered upon adoption. He can be seen in the Cat Room.
Mandy is a young female domestic shorthair cat with striking green eyes. She is fully vetted, will be spayed before going home, and is litter trained. She can be seen in the cat room.
Scar is a young male domestic shorthair cat. He is fully vetted, litter trained, and will be neutered upon adoption. Scar can be seen in the cat room.

Finders Keepers Cat Rescue
Chalupa is a 5 month old male domestic shorthair kitten. Vetted, neutered and litter trained. He is very much a people person and will flop down on your feet till you pick him up. Very handsome guy is just a lover. Super friendly, cuddly and a great companion. He is quite the talker as well!

Stewart County Faithful Friends Animal Rescue
Drako is a 4 and a half year old very handsome Pit Bull Terrier mix. Fully vetted, neutered and does keep his kennel area clean. Drako needs to be the only pet in the home and an adopter who will continue working with him and getting him outdoors for long walks and adventures. He absolutely bonds to his person.

Companion Pet Rescue of Middle Tennessee
Copernicus is a senior male Border Collie mixed breed. Fully vetted, in great health, neutered and house trained. A meet and greet is required if other dogs are in the home. He does get along with some dogs, prefers older children, fine round dog savvy cats and really needs a quiet, calm home environment.
Copernicus knows basic commands and would love a soft place to enjoy his days. Always remember to check any breed/pet restrictions if you rent or live on Post! Fosters are always needed.

Choco Chester is a 9 year old Senior Domestic Shorthair with a beautiful coloring. Vetted, neutered and litter trained. Chester is good with other cats and with children. He is a lovely gentle soul who enjoys lounging around and an occasional treat of snacks and wet food. He gets along with mellow cats and even potentially mellow dogs and just wants a calm home to enjoy his senior years. He got a great clean bill of health and has plenty of good years left.

Mikaela’s Mutt Motel
Heidi is a 3 year old female Terrier mixed breed. She is fully vetted, spayed, house/crate trained and a comfortable, low energy girl. She has done well with kids, other dogs and even dog savvy cats. Heidi is a professional napper and loves nothing more than snuggling with her family. Napping is sometimes interrupted by the occasional round of zoomies, quickly followed by another nap.

Kaylee’s Island of Misfit Dogs Rescue
Kiko is a 2 year old female Malinois/Shepherd mix. She is vetted, not yet spayed and kennel/ house trained. Kiko is fine with other dogs and children 5 years old and up please. Please do a bit of research on both breeds and make sure you will have the time to keep her challenged and active.
Please remember the rule of 3 when adopting any rescue. 3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to start to get comfortable with the new routine, and 3 months to put it all together.

Alice is a 7 month old Pug/Lab mix. Vetted, spayed and has been working with a trainer on basic skills and manners and is almost fully house trained as well. She is such a sweet, petite girl and loves her people. Alice does well with children, dogs and even cats. Please check ALL pet restrictions if renting or living on Post.
