Austin Peay State University’s Candlelight Ball to be held May 8th

 

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – Last spring, the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic caused Austin Peay State University (APSU) to cancel its premier social event, the Candlelight Ball, for the first time in 36 years.

The ball, which raises money for vital student scholarships, is set to return next spring, and organizers are working to keep the annual celebration from suffering another disruption.

APSU announces recipients of the 36th Annual Candlelight Ball Awards

 

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – On Saturday, March 14th, 2020 at 6:00pm, Austin Peay State University (APSU) will host the 36th Annual Candlelight Ball at the Omni Nashville Hotel, and in anticipation of this event, the University has announced the three winners of the 2020 Candlelight Ball Awards.

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – For nearly 90 years, Austin Peay State University (APSU) has provided professional development training for local teachers, but in late February, the Eriksson College of Education expanded its services well beyond the Middle Tennessee region.

On Wednesday, February 20th, 2019 a delegation of 15 preschool and kindergarten teachers and administrators from Beijing, China, arrived on campus for a special, week-long training symposium.

Unique Anti-Bullying Tactic

 

Jesus Sowing SeedClarksville, TN – On Tuesday, September 8th, 2015, during the bus ride home from Barkers Mill Elementary school, an older student decided to bully 3rd grader, Jaylen Garrett by punching him repeatedly in his chest.

Instead of retaliating or telling the bus driver, Jaylen used it as an opportunity to ask the kid if he knew Jesus. The kid replied that he had heard of Jesus, but didn’t know much about him.
