APSU Beach Volleyball releases 2019 Schedule

APSU Women's VolleyballClarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) beach volleyball team is set to begin its third season of competition and second year hosting home events at the Govs Beach Volleyball Complex.

The 2019 campaign gets underway March 8th-10th when the Governors travel to Gulf Shores, Alabama for The March to May tournament, held at the site of the 2019 NCAA Championship. They will face Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, New Orleans, Spring Hill and Southern Miss.

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsPhoenix, AZ – For the second time this season, the Tennessee Vols will take on a top-5 opponent on a neutral floor Sunday, as they play top-ranked Gonzaga in the Jerry Colangelo Classic at Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix.

The game will tip at 2:00pm CT, and ESPN will carry the broadcast the top-10 matchup, which can also be streamed online through WatchESPN. Fans can also listen live on their local Vol Network affiliate to hear Bob Kesling and Bert Bertelkamp describing the action.

#6 Tennessee Vols Basketball drops Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, 79-51

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsKnoxville, TN – No. 6 Tennessee cruised to a 79-51 win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi behind a balanced offensive attack Sunday afternoon at Thompson-Boling Arena.
 
Admiral Schofield led the way with 16 points to go along with a career-high-tying four steals. Grant Williams chipped in 14 points, nine rebounds, four assists and two blocks. Fellow junior Jordan Bowden also scored 14 points off the bench to go with four rebounds and a pair of steals.
 
Kyle Alexander rounded out the double-digit scoring for the Vols, recording 12 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks for the third double-double of his career.

#6 Tennessee Vols Basketball defeats Eastern Kentucky, 95-67

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsKnoxville, TN – No. 6 Tennessee’s starting five combined for 72 points, fueling the Volunteers to a 95-67 victory over the Eastern Kentucky Colonels Wednesday night at Thompson-Boling Arena.

Four Vols scored in double figures, headlined by a double-double from junior forward Grant Williams. The Charlotte, North Carolina, native posted 21 points, 11 rebounds and five assists and was a perfect 9-for-9 from the free-throw line. The performance marked Williams’ seventh career double-double.
 
Senior guard Admiral Schofield poured in 20 points on 8-of-9 shooting from the field, while junior point guard Jordan Bone added 14 points and seven assists for the Big Orange.

UT Vols Basketball releases 2018-19 Schedule

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsKnoxville, TN – Tennessee’s complete 2018-19 men’s basketball schedule has been made public. High-profile non-conference opponents for the Volunteers include Gonzaga, Georgia Tech, Louisville, in-state foe Memphis, Wake Forest and West Virginia. The Big Orange host 18 regular-season contests and one preseason exhibition at Thompson-Boling Arena.

In their fourth season under the direction of reigning SEC Coach of the Year Rick Barnes, the Volunteers play host to multiple regional opponents  in pre-conference action, including Barnes’ alma mater, Lenoir-Rhyne, in the season-opener along with Eastern Kentucky and Samford. Louisiana and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi are also set to visit Thompson-Boling Arena.
