Nashville Sounds take down Indianapolis Indians, 9-4

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds got back-to-back home runs from Jamie Westbrook and Tim Lopes on their way to a convincing 9-4 win over the visiting Indianapolis Indians on Wednesday night at First Horizon Park.

Westbrook’s two-run blast came in the bottom of the fourth inning and Lopes followed with a solo shot of his own to give the Sounds a comfortable 9-0 lead.

The offense was firing on all cylinders early in the game with two runs in the first inning and four in the second to build an early lead. Following a 1-2-3 top of the first inning by Nashville starter Josh Lindblom, Jake Hager and Derek Fisher ignited the offense with back-to-back doubles to make it 1-0.

Nashville Sounds beat Columbus Clippers for 10th Straight Win

 

Nashville SoundsColumbus, OH – The Nashville Sounds launched a season-high six home runs on Friday night, including two from Weston Wilson and back-to-back jacks from Tyrone Taylor and Jake Hager, to beat the Columbus Clippers 13-9 on a windy night at Huntington Park. The Sounds have won 10 consecutive games and 13 of their last 15.

Zach Green got it started right away with a two-run homer in the first inning off Kirk McCarty. Green has homered three times in the series and twice in the first inning. Then Wilson hit the first of his two in the second inning before Hernan Perez smashed a two-run double to make it 5-0.

Nashville Sounds run over Columbus Clippers, 11-0

 

Nashville SoundsColumbus, OH – The Nashville Sounds scored a season-high in runs and took their win streak to nine on Thursday night, clobbering the Columbus Clippers 11-0 at Huntington Park. Three Sounds homered, and Zack Godley tossed a quality start to lead the way.

The Sounds (15-5), who have not trailed at any point in the first three games of the series, got on the board with two runs in the second against Clippers (8-12) starter Manuel Alvarez. Corey Ray walked, stole second and scored on a double by Christian Kelley, and Dylan Cozens later scored on a fielding error by third baseman Gabriel Arias.

Nashville Sounds hold off late Columbus Clippers rally for 6-5 victory

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – Zach Green led the charge with a first-inning two-run homer, and the pitching held on late to give the Nashville Sounds a 6-5 win over the Columbus Clippers Wednesday night at Huntington Park. The victory in game two of the series extended Nashville’s winning streak to a Minor League Baseball-best eight games.

The game started with Nashville’s Pablo Reyes drawing a walk-off Columbus starter Kevin Herget. After a pair of strikeouts, Green drilled a long two-run homer to deep left field to give Nashville a 2-0 lead. It was Green’s team-leading sixth home run of the season.

Nashville Sounds get walk-off extra innings win over Memphis Redbirds

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – Weston Wilson delivered the knockout punch with a walk-off base hit in the bottom of the 10th inning to give the Nashville Sounds a thrilling 4-3 win over the Memphis Redbirds in front of a sellout crowd of 10,861 fans at First Horizon Park Saturday night.

A wild back-and-forth affair saw the Sounds and Redbirds tied at 3-3 after nine innings. Memphis nearly took the lead in the top of the 10th but Dustin Peterson’s perfect throw from left field cut down a sliding Austin Dean at the plate.

Nashville Sounds fall to Memphis Redbirds, 18-6

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Memphis Redbirds scored 10 runs in the first three innings on their way to a 18-6 win over the Nashville Sounds in front of a sellout crowd of 4,000 fans Tuesday night at First Horizon Park, the largest attendance allowed under the current Metro Public Health Department guidelines. 

The return of professional baseball to Nashville was spoiled quickly by the visiting Redbirds. They jumped on Sounds starter Thomas Jankins and tagged him for 11 earned runs, a career-high.

Trailing 2-0 after a half of an inning, the Sounds battled back immediately.
