Nashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds had one out to go before picking up their eighth shutout victory of the season, but the Iowa Cubs battled back Sunday night to force extras before handing Nashville the 3-2 loss at Greer Stadium.
Iowa’s first baseman Greg Rohan hit the game-winning home run off the guitar scoreboard in the 10th inning, but it was former Sound Edwin Maysonet who kept the Cubs in the game with his at-bat in the 9th inning, hitting the game-tying two-run single up the middle facing two outs in the ninth inning.
Oklahoma City, OK – The Nashville Sounds came up one run short in Tuesday night’s contest at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark, losing 5-4 to the Oklahoma City RedHawks, who claimed the American Southern Division and a postseason berth as a result.
Down 4-1, the Sounds strung together a two-run two-out rally in the sixth inning courtesy of a triple from Nashville second baseman Eugenio Velez, 2-for-4.
Oklahoma City, OK – The Nashville Sounds doubled up the Oklahoma City RedHawks, 6-3, on Monday evening at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark in the opener of a four-game series.
With the win, the Sounds (53-84) snapped Oklahoma City’s 17-game home winning streak and posted back-to-back road victories for just the fifth time all season. Nashville rapped out 15 hits but also left a season-high 16 runners on base on the night.
Albuquerque, NM – The Nashville Sounds never recovered from a six-run second inning Thursday night at Isotopes Park, losing 9-5 to the Albuquerque Isotopes.
After a perfect first inning, Sounds starter Zach Kroenke (5-15) ran into trouble in the second. The lefty, making the spot start for Chris Narveson, loaded the bases for Albuquerque’s infielder Justin Sellers, who hit a triple past a diving Kentrail Davis in center field to put the ‘Topes up three.
Nashville, TN- The Round Rock Express rallied from a mid-game four-run deficit to eventually hang an 8-6, 10-inning defeat on the Nashville Sounds on Sunday evening at Greer Stadium.
Nashville (51-78), which led 5-1 entering the sixth inning, fell to 1-7 in extra-inning play this season (0-4 at home).
In the decisive tenth frame, Round Rock loaded the bases with no outs on a walk sandwiched by a pair of singles against Travis Webb. Engel Beltre delivered a go-ahead RBI single to center before Alex Buchholz chased Webb with an RBI groundout that gave the Express an 8-6 lead.
Nashville’s Sean Halton Hits Three-Run Bomb In Loss
Reno, NV – The Nashville Sounds were no match for the Reno Aces Tuesday night at Aces Ballpark, and gave up a season-high 14 runs in the 14-3 loss.
Trailing 3-2 in the sixth, the Aces batted around to hang six runs on the Sounds. In his first at-bat for Reno, Jake Fox lifted a pinch-hit single into centerfield off of reliever Tim Dillard to give the Aces a one-run lead. Both of the scoring runners reached base off of Zach Kroenke (5-14), who began the inning.
Nashville’s Zach Kroenke Serves Up Six Scoreless; Blake Lalli Homers
Colorado Springs, CO – The Nashville Sounds broke away with a five-spot in the ninth inning to defeat the Colorado Sky Sox by a 6-1 margin Thursday night in the series opener at Security Service Field. The victory is Nashville’s ninth in their last 10 games.
The Sounds loaded the bases in the ninth before recording a hit in the inning, as Sean Halton walked, Hunter Morris reached on an error, and Blake Lalli on a sacrifice bunt fielder’s choice. Stephen Parker followed with a dribbler to first base which was misfielded by Ben Paulsen to allow the go-ahead run.
Nashville’s Hunter Morris Belts 21st Home Run
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds had their season-best six game win streak snapped Sunday night at Greer Stadium, losing the lead in the last inning to the Tucson Padres in the 8-5 defeat.
Trailing 5-4 in the ninth inning with the bases loaded, first baseman Cody Decker drove a triple to right field to flip the script on the Sounds for a 6-5 advantage. The Padres added one more run on Chris Robinson’s squeeze bunt single to third base.
Velez RBI Single Gives Nashville Its Season-Best Third Straight Win
Nashville, TN – Eugenio Velez laced a one-out RBI single to center in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Nashville Sounds a 3-2 walk-off victory over the Las Vegas 51s on Wednesday evening at Greer Stadium.
With their fourth last at-bat win of the year, the Sounds (41-71) matched their longest winning streak of the season with their third straight victory.
Papillion, NE – The Nashville Sounds suffered their third straight loss to division-leading Omaha, falling 4-1 to the Storm Chasers on Sunday afternoon at Werner Park.
Nashville (38-71), which has dropped five of its last six after opening with four wins in their first five contests out of the All-Star break, is just 4-11 against Omaha this season.
