Omaha Royals And Albuquerque Isotopes Visit Greer During Eight-Game Homestand

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN — The Nashville Sounds return home to historic Greer Stadium this Thursday, to open an eight-game homestand against the Omaha Royals (Royals affiliate) and Albuquerque Isotopes (Dodgers affiliate).

Highlighting the week’s worth of promotions will be a Prince Fielder Bobblehead Giveaway, Hat Giveaway, Postgame Fireworks, and two Taco Bell Throwback Thursdays.

Following the Triple-A All Star Break, the Sounds welcome the division-rival Omaha Royals to Music City for the 7:05pm homestand opener and Taco Bell Throwback Thursday. The Sounds will be wearing retro 1980s-style uniforms, while fans have the opportunity to enjoy concession stands filled with discounted pricing, such as $2.00 beer, $2.00 soft drinks, $2.00 hot dogs, $2.00 popcorn, and $2.00 nachos. College students also receive a $5.00 General Admission ticket with a college ID. Beer sales will conclude at the end of the 6th inning, while Slugger’s will sell until the end of game.

Be sure to arrive early Thursday, as Prince Fielder Bobbleheads will be given to the first 2,000 guests through the turnstiles at Greer, thanks to H.G. Hill Food Stores. The three-time All-Star first baseman and 2009 MLB Home Run Derby champion enjoyed a standout year for the Sounds in 2005. Gates open at 5:35pm.

For Friday’s 7:05pm contest with the Royals, the first 2,000 fans through the turnstiles will receive a premium Nashville Sounds hat, courtesy of Vanderbilt Sports Medicine. Country music artist Whitney Duncan will make an appearance and throw a ceremonial first pitch before the game. Gates open at 5:35pm.

Adding to the excitement of the homestand, Saturday’s 6:35pm  game with Omaha will end with a bang, as postgame fireworks light up the sky following the action on the field. Saturday night is also Scout Night at Camp Greer, offering Scouts an opportunity for a fun-filled evening camping right on the field – overnight at Greer Stadium (weather permitting). Gates open at 5:05pm.

Rush of FoolsSunday evening marks the finale of the Omaha series and first of three Purity Faith Nights of the season. Christian Music artist Rush of Fools will play a Faith Night concert on the plaza stage near the first-base entrance at Greer beginning at 5:05pm. It will be a Purity Sundae Sunday with $1.00 ice cream sundaes, and Autograph Day, where a pre-game autograph session will take place on field with members of the Sounds team and coaching staff. Sunday night’s 6:35pm game will be dedicated to Mount Juliet as part of the Nashville Sounds “Play Ball” Project, helping Middle Tennessee youth baseball organizations recover from major flood damage. On Monday, the Sounds welcome Albuquerque to town for the club’s second series of the year in Music City. Every Monday night is Dollar Hot Dog Night at Greer, where fans are able to purchase hot dogs for $1.00 each for the opener of a four-game set with Isotopes. Monday night’s contest will be dedicated to Hendersonville as part of the Nashville Sounds “Play Ball” Project, helping Middle Tennessee youth baseball organizations recover from major flood damage. Game time is 7:05pm and gates open at 5:35pm.

Tuesday’s game with the Isotopes starts at 7:05pm. It is KRAFT Singles Tuesday Night Tickets, where fans will be able to bring in a KRAFT Singles package wrapper/proof of purchase to the box office for a Buy One Ticket, Get One Free offer. Tuesday night’s game will be dedicated to Shelby Park as part of the Nashville Sounds “Play Ball” Project, helping Middle Tennessee youth baseball organizations recover from major flood damage. Gates open at 5:35pm.

Following Wednesday evening’s game with Albuquerque, the Sounds will be wearing retro 1980s-style uniforms for another Taco Bell Throwback Thursday. Fans have the opportunity to enjoy concession stands filled with discounted pricing, such as $2.00 beer, $2.00 soft drinks, $2.00 hot dogs, $2.00 popcorn, and $2.00 nachos. College students also receive a $5.00 General Admission ticket with a college ID. Beer sales will conclude at the end of the 6th inning, while Slugger’s will sell until the end of game. First pitch is 7:05pm and gates open at 5:35pm.

Following the homestand, Nashville will travel west for a quick four-game road trip at Albuquerque before returning to open another eight-game homestand on Tuesday, July 27th against the Omaha Royals and Round Rock Express.
