Undermanned Montgomery Central Lady Indians no match for Stewart County Rebelettes

 

Montgomery Central High SchoolCunningham, TN – When you’re facing one of the top teams in your district you hope to have all your players healthy and ready to face the challenge.

Well, that wasn’t the case for the Montgomery Central High School girls basketball team, January 22nd at the Thomas-Young Gymnasium, as the Lady Indians were down to their third-string point guard against a defensively strong Stewart County High School squad, coming away with a 63-16 loss.

Clarksville Police requests public assistance in identifying Burglary Suspects

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department responded to a Residential Burglary at 922 Power Street, where the victim, Esteban Rangel-Luna, stated that two white males forced entry into his residence while he was home and hit him in the head and face with a pistol.

Rangel-Luna stated that the suspects demanded money from him. Rangel-Luna said that the unknown males left in a red pickup truck. Rangel-Luna had head and facial injuries. Rangel-Luna was taken to Gateway Medical Center ER.

Joe Pitts elected to Fiscal Review Committee

 

Nashville, TN – State Representative Joe Pitts (D-Clarksville) was unanimously elected by the Tennessee House of Representatives today to serve on the Fiscal Review Committee.  Rep. Pitts replaces long-time committee member Rep. Charles Curtiss, (D-Sparta) who recently left his seat in the TN House of Representatives to take a private sector job.

Clarksville Police investigating Armed Robbery

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Early Wednesday morning,  the Clarksville Police Department responded to an armed robbery at 523 Dover Road (Kangaroo Mart).

The clerk, at the Kangaroo Mart, stated that a black male pointed a handgun at him and demanded the money from the register.

The clerk complied by giving him the money from the register, which totaled $20.00 (twenty dollars). The black male left and fled in a green, 4 door car.

Clarksville Police respond to overturned Grain Truck at the Intersection of Tiny Town Road and Peachers Mill Road

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Today at at 11:32am, the Clarksville Police Department was dispatched to the intersection of Tiny Town Road and Peachers Mill Road, due to a overturned Grain Truck.

Traffic will be slow moving in this area for several hours. Clarksville drivers are encouraged to avoid this area until later this afternoon.

Clarksville Gas and Water reports Madison Street Water Outage

 

Wednesday, January 22nd, 2014

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – A Clarksville Gas and Water construction crew is repairing a water main leak near the intersection of Madison Street (U.S. Highway 41A) and Harper Road to repair a water main leak.

There will be periods of low water pressure or no water service during the repair work for residents along Madison Street (U.S. Highway 41A) from Sango Drive to Excell Road until approximately 4:30pm.

The road is open to traffic.

Gateway Chamber OrchestraClarksville, TN – There’s a famous scene in the 1984 Oscar-winning film “Amadeus” where the Italian composer Antonio Salieri looks over sheet music for Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “Gran Partita” serenade.

Salieri’s face contorts into a mixture of agony and ecstasy as he images the sounds of that serenade’s “Adagio.”

Humane Society of Clarksville-Montgomery County to host Legends of Clarksvegas March 8th, 2014

Clarksville Gas and Water Department reports Christy Court Water Outage

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water has turned off water service on Christy Court to repair a water main leak. The onsite construction crew anticipates the repair to be complete and water restored by approximately 12:00pm. Area residents may experience low water pressure during the work.

The road is open to traffic.
