Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan has proclaimed November 29th, 2014 as “Small Business Saturday” in Clarksville.
Originally created in 2010, Small Business Saturday recognizes the unique needs of small business owners and the importance of the goods and services they offer. Falling between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, this is a day that celebrates small, independently-owned businesses that help boost our local economy through job creation, service in our community and preservation of our neighborhoods.

“With the holiday season upon us, I want to encourage each one of you to ‘Live Local’ this shopping season and patronize Clarksville area businesses,” said Melinda Shepard, Executive Director of the Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce. “Most businesses will be participating with special events, refreshments and door prizes. Take advantage of this special day to enjoy some of Clarksville’s unique locally owned shops.”
The City is also helping people get to their shopping destinations on Black Friday. All CTS rides are free on Friday, November 28th, 2014.
“We have the opportunity to thank loyal riders again and to encourage new riders to try CTS services,” said Mayor McMillan. “CTS is doing such a great job and they offer a great way to shop without worrying about driving in traffic or finding a coveted Black Friday parking space. It will be a great day to sit back, relax and let someone else do the driving.”
