Nashville, TN – A four-run first inning did the trick for the Las Vegas 51s in a 7-2 win over the Nashville Sounds in front of 9,291 fans at First Tennessee Park Thursday night.
Sounds’ starter Zach Neal retired Brandon Nimmo on a groundout to start the game, but then yielded hits to five of the next six batters. Jayce Boyd started the scoring with a two-out, two-run double to the gap in left-center.
It didn’t stop there as catcher Xorge Carrillo followed with another double to the gap in left-center, this time scoring Boyd to make it 3-0. The final run in the inning came off the bat of Cody Decker who rifled a line drive down the left field line to plate Carrillo with the 51s’ fourth run of the frame.
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Police are trying to identify two men involved in a robbery at a local hotel at Westfield Court that occurring on Tuesday, July 25th, 2017 around 9:45pm.
A couple was invited to hang out with a friend at a hotel room. Shortly after the couple arrived, there was a knock on the door and they were confronted by two armed men. The men took the couple’s money and property and fled from the scene.

Clarksville, TN – On Thursday, July 27th, 2017, around 2:30pm, a family member reported Elizabeth Ann Holt (sometimes goes as Waldriff), 55, W/F, 5’3″, 97 LBS, and shoulder length brown hair, was reported as missing to the Clarksville Police Department.
On Monday, July 24th, 2017, around 10:00pm, Elizabeth Holt was on her way to Clarksville when she got lost in the St Louis area and the family has not had contact with her since then.
Clarksville, TN – On Saturday July 29th, 2017 from 3:00pm-5:00pm, come out to Dunbar Cave State natural Area for the annual Cooling at the Cave event. Cooling at the Cave is a Clarksville tradition that goes back over 100 years. Join the Friends of Dunbar Cave and enjoy live music and refreshments at the cool cave entrance.
Prior to air conditioning being widely available, locals would gather at the mouth of the cave to enjoy the cool air gently blowing from the mouth of the cave. Many concerts wear held there as people would fellowship and beat the heat of summer.

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water has turned off water service on Baltimore Drive from Heitts Lane to the end of Baltimore Drive to repair a water main leak.
The water main repair is anticipated to be finished and water service restored by approximately 2:00pm.

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University Athletics department’s Echo Power Engineering Governors Golf Classic fundraiser, presented by Hand Family Companies and the APSU Governors Club, is set for August 4th, 2017, at the Clarksville Country Club and Swan Lake Golf Course.
The annual event serves a fundraiser to support student-athletes through scholarships, facility improvements and academic support. Teams can register for the four-player, best-ball scramble for $400.00, with hole sponsorships (which include both course) available for $500.00.
