Austin Peay State University (APSU)
Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) National Alumni Association (NAA) hosted its annual Legacy Luncheon on Thursday, August 23rd, 2018 in the ECHO Power Club Level of Fortera Stadium.
Invited guests included incoming freshmen and their alumni family members.
The free networking and relationship building event allowed students a chance to meet and interact with representatives from their chosen fields of study in a casual environment.
Various APSU deans, chairs, faculty and staff were in attendance. Each student received a welcome gift. Additionally, they were all presented with official Austin Peay State Universsity Legacy pins by their alumni family members during a ceremony at conclusion of the luncheon.
“This is an exciting time for the entire Austin Peay community, as a new academic year begins,” Nikki Peterson, director of alumni relations, said. “As freshmen walk away from this legacy luncheon, we hope they will have a better understanding and appreciation for the rich history and family tradition that Austin Peay upholds. Austin Peay State University alumni have laid the foundation for this institution, and their achievements continue to make our degrees more valuable each day.”
Through this annual gathering, the APSU NAA and the Office of Alumni Relations have successfully increased awareness of the various programs and networking opportunities that are available to students on campus. The event also serves as an opportunity to educate students on the benefits of the alumni association, thereby building relationships with them long before graduation.
As the organization that promotes Governors pride and tradition, the APSU NAA welcomes the opportunity to celebrate the many students and alumni who have made Austin Peay a family legacy.
