Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) Homecoming Week is a bit different this year. The COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic forced homecoming from last fall to this spring.
The festivities start today with the Homecoming BBQ & SGA T-shirt Giveaway at 11:00am and finish up when the football team hosts UT Martin at 2:00pm Sunday, March 21st.
Austin Peay State University alumni create Christopher C. Wyatt, Jonathan W. Wyatt Endowment to benefit APSU students
Clarksville, TN – William (Bill) H. Wyatt (’70) and Victoria (Vicki) Brinkley Wyatt (’70) recently made a contribution to the Austin Peay State University (APSU) Foundation to establish the Christopher C. Wyatt and Jonathan W. Wyatt Endowment to benefit APSU students.
Bill and Vicki graduated from APSU in 1970. Their sons, Christopher and Jonathan, were both alumni of the University as well. The family has long supported Austin Peay State University.
Austin Peay State University Military Alumni Chapter Homecoming Dinner to honor named scholarships on October 26th

Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) Military Alumni Chapter and the APSU National Alumni Association will host the Military Alumni Chapter Homecoming Dinner at 6:00pm, October 26th, 2018 in the APSU Morgan University Center Ballroom, with a reception at 5:30pm prior to the dinner.
Retired Brigadier General Scott E. Brower, the University’s first military adviser in residence, will serve as the keynote speaker.

Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) National Alumni Association (NAA) hosted its annual Legacy Luncheon on Thursday, August 23rd, 2018 in the ECHO Power Club Level of Fortera Stadium.
Invited guests included incoming freshmen and their alumni family members.
Clarksville, TN – During a special alumni awards ceremony on Saturday, October 21st, 2017, Austin Peay State University honored six distinguished individuals as part of its 2017 Homecoming celebration.
This year’s honorees were Outstanding Service Award recipients Joe Shakeenab (’04) and Dave Loos; Outstanding Young Alumnus Award recipients Trent Caffee (’11) and John Swigart (’00); and Outstanding Alumni Award recipients Steve Harmon (’83) and Mike Krause (’07).
Clarksville, TN – On December 9th, Dr. Mike Gotcher, professor of communication and interim executive director of Extended Education at Austin Peay State University, will deliver the keynote address at the APSU’s Winter Commencement.
He will speak at both commencement ceremonies, at 9:00am and 2:00pm, in the University’s Dunn Center.
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University athletics and the National Alumni Association will play host to the APSU Basketball Reunion, Saturday, February 7th.
This year’s reunion will be centered around the Govs and Lady Govs basketball games with rival Murray State, with the women’s game starting at 4:30pm and the men’s contest at 7:00pm.
This is the second alumni basketball reunion sponsored by the National Alumni Association. Last year’s reunion honored the 2003-04 Govs’ basketball team that went 16-0 in Ohio Valley Conference play.
Austin Peay State University to hold Career Networking event so local Employers can meet APSU Students to hire, intern
Clarksville, TN – Local businesses and organizations looking to recruit strong applicants are encouraged to participate in The Govs Connection, a career networking event and internship fair, from 8:00am-4:00pm on February 25th, in the Austin Peay State University Morgan University Center Ballroom.

Clarksville, TN – When Keith Wilson, 51, first arrived at Austin Peay State University, George H.W. Bush was president of the United States, Johnny Carson ended his 30-year tenure as host of the Tonight Show and Barcelona hosted the Summer Olympic Games.

Clarksville, TN – APSU Vice President of the National Alumni Association, Makeba Webb shared the ins and outs of pursuing higher learning opportunities and relationship that education has to career development with students enrolled in the LEAP Youth Career Development Program.
Students listened intently as Makeba advised them of the differences between financial aid, Pell Grants, scholarships and student loans and the impact selecting a school in state or out of state would have on funding sources.
