APSU Women’s Golf adds Colton Cowan as assistant coach

 

APSU Women's GolfClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU)  head women’s golf coach Jessica Cathey has added Colton Cowan as her first assistant coach.

Cowan comes to APSU after two years as the graduate assistant at Southwestern Oklahoma State, where he assisted both the men and women’s programs.

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – This morning, September 3rd, 2019, a pedestrian fatality crash that occurred around 10:42am that Clarksville Police are investigating at the intersection of Riverside Drive and College Street that.

A Clarksville Street Department employee in his 30s was working at the corner of Riverside Drive and College Street when he was struck by a tractor-trailer turning from Riverside Drive onto College Street. The city employee died at the scene.

City of Clarksville announces School zone coming to Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway

 

City of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – Clarksville Street Department crews are completing the installation of signs and equipment to establish a new 20 mph school zone on Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway/State Route 76 between Red Coat Run and Bellshire Drive in front of Clarksville Christian School.

Arcadia Senior Living becomes Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certified

 

Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certification ProgramMontgomery County, TN – The latest local business to join the Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certification Program is Arcadia Senior Living. A green ribbon cutting was held on August 26th, 2019 to celebrate its achievement. The ribbon cutting was attended by Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts, Program Manager Carlye Sommers and Program Board Members Daryl Pater, Gene Fish, Doug Jones and Melinda Shepard.

Arcadia is the first senior living facility to join the Green Certification Program. Jackie Stone, Executive Director and her staff have worked to create a sustainable building that promotes sustainability not only with staff but also with residents. Common areas of the facility are 95% LED lit and the majority include occupancy sensors.

United Way Asks the Community “What’s Your Why?”

 

United Way Of Greater ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – For the love of community, United Way of the Greater Clarksville Region launched their 2019 – 2020 campaign at the Roxy Regional Theatre on August 28th.

In the campaign spirit, United Way CEO Valerie Guzman asked the crowd what their why was? “We all have a reason why we do what we do,” said Guzman.

“Why do you give back to those in need? Why do you advocate for community change? Why do you volunteer at local organizations? When we find our why our purpose becomes stronger, our vision clearer, and our impact bigger.”

Austin Peay State University, Google to lead drone-building workshops in preview of new InnovaTN Games at Riverfest

Clarksville Gas and Water reports Conroy Avenue Closed for Sewer Line Installation Work

 

Clarksville Gas and Water Department - CGWClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Gas and Water Department has restarted new sewer line installation work today on Conroy Avenue and have closed the road from Madison Street to Clark Street.

Weather permitting, the work will take place daily closing the road from 7:30am until 9:00pm through Friday, September 6th, 2019, or until the project is finished.
