Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission (TFWC) will be updating fishing regulations at its September meeting. The meeting is scheduled September 19th-20th, 2019 in the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency’s Region II Ray Bell Building in Nashville.
Committee meetings start at 1:00pm on Thursday. The regular TFWC meeting begins at 9:00am on Friday.
The TWRA Fisheries Division presented its proposed changes to regulations at the TFWC’s August meeting.

The complete list of the proposals has been on the TWRA website at www.tnwildlife.org since the August meeting. A comment period was also held.
In addition to the fishing regulations, TWRA Fisheries Division chief, Frank Fiss, will introduce the agency’s annual awards for the fisheries biologist and technician of the year.
Results of the 3-day August deer hunt will be provided. In addition a chronic wasting disease (CWD) update will be given.
Boating and Law Enforcement Assistant Chief Glenn Moates will be presenting the 2019 boating accident and enforcement statistics. In addition, the 2018 part-time boating officer, full-time boating officer and the boating educator award recipients will be introduced to the commission.
The commission will hear new techniques being implemented to reactivate license customers. Among the incentives, the agency is beginning a partnership with Academy Sports to offer an incentive for license purchases.
