Tennessee Vols basketball defeats Vanderbilt, 70-58

 

Tennessee Volunteers - UT VolsNashville, TN – Two 20-point scoring outputs from junior Victor Bailey Jr. and freshman Jaden Springer, along with a double-double from senior Yves Pons, pushed the No. 25 Tennessee men’s basketball team past Vanderbilt, 70-58, Wednesday inside Memorial Gym.

The win was Tennessee’s (16-6, 9-6 SEC) eighth consecutive victory over Vanderbilt (6-13, 2-11 SEC) and UT’s fifth straight in the Commodores’ home gym.

The Vols were led by Bailey Jr., who poured in 21 points on 7-of-14 shooting and 5-of-8 from 3-point range. The Austin, Texas, native also added three rebounds and three assists.

President Joe Biden Announces New Actions to Deliver Masks to Communities Hit Hard by the Pandemic

 

The White HouseWashington, D.C. – As part of his National Strategy to defeat COVID-19 Coronavirus, President Joe Biden announced a new effort to make masks more easily available to communities hard hit by the pandemic.

The Administration will deliver more than 25 million masks to over 1,300 Community Health Centers across the country as well as 60,000 food pantries and soup kitchens, reaching some of the nation’s most vulnerable populations.

On Friday, February 19th, 2021 the Shelby County Health Department reported more than 1,000 doses of COVID-19 Coronavirus vaccine were discarded due to expiration.

Tennessee Department of Health reports 1,074 new cases of COVID-19 Coronavirus in Tennessee, February 24th, 2021

 

Tennessee Department of HealthNashville, TN – On Wednesday, February 24th, 2021, the Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) reports that there have been 645,002 confirmed cases of COVID-19 Coronavirus. That is an increase of 1,074 cases from Tuesday’s 643,928. There have been 9,060 (+53) confirmed deaths in Tennessee because of the virus.

There have been   T H I R T Y   S I X   new cases of the COVID-19 Coronavirus reported in Montgomery County. The total is 17,207. Three of the new cases reported today were in the age group of 5-18 year olds. There have been 207 deaths in Montgomery County due to the virus. There were 161 tests given with 17 positive results for a 10.6 percent positive.
