Montgomery County holds Groundbreaking Ceremony for Wade Bourne Nature Center

 

Montgomery County Government TennesseeMontgomery County, TN – On Tuesday afternoon, June 4th, 2019, around 70 people came out to celebrate the groundbreaking for the Wade Bourne Nature Center at Montgomery County’s Rotary Park. Expected to open summer 2020, the nature center is named in honor of Wade Bourne because of his long-time passion and commitment to conservation and the outdoors.

Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett, Director of Parks Jerry Allbert, Architect Lane Lyle and Becky Bourne, widow of Wade Bourne, spoke to the crowd prior to the ceremonial groundbreaking.

City of Clarksville dedicates Pastor Jimmy Terry Monument

 

Pastor Jimmy Terry’s message will live on along Riverside Drive 

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – The Jimmy Terry Monument at McGregor Park was dedicated in a ceremony Friday attended by scores of community members who had been inspired by the late pastor and community leader.

The noon ceremony was sponsored by Legends Bank, the Jimmy Terry Monument Committee and the City of Clarksville.

City of Clarksville cites Ice Rink Safety Concerns

 

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – Citing significant public safety deficiencies, the City of Clarksville has turned down an initial request for a temporary Certificate of Occupancy for the Downtown Commons project.

Montgomery County government, which is building the commons, announced November 1st, 2017, it planned to open a public skating rink on the property on November 24th, 2017, even though the site is still under construction.

Work begins on River Trail Red River Section of Clarksville Greenway

 

City of Clarksville uses state grants to continue Greenway

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – Construction has begun on a another downtown section of the Clarksville Greenway, which ultimately will create a 10-mile hiking-and-biking trail connection between the City’s core and Heritage Park in Northeast Clarksville.

The latest section is known as the River Trail Red River Section and extends north along the Red River from the RiverWalk in McGregor Park to the Highway 41A bridge at Providence Boulevard.

Clarksville dedicates Fire Station 11

 

New station will improve response times in North Clarksville

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – On Thursday, November 12th, 2016, a new fire station to serve rapidly growing Northeast Clarksville was dedicated.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was conducted by Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan and Fire Chief Mike Roberts under a bright blue sky at Clarksville Fire Rescue Station 11, 945 Tylertown Road.

2nd annual Be More Like Wade Scholarship 5k Run/Walk/Crawl exceeds expectations

 

Wade Morgan - Be More Like WadeCunningham, TN – Last Saturday, July 30th, 2016 the 2nd annual “Be More Like Wade Scholarship 5K Run/Walk/Crawl” was held at the Montgomery Central Schools in honor of Wade Morgan. The race began at 8:30am.

All proceeds go into a scholarship fund which will be given to a Montgomery Central Senior who demonstrates similar characteristics of #bemorelikewade. He exemplified the true meaning of a genuine person by being a selfless individual and always having an optimistic outlook on life.
