The UT-ASU game is the fifth of seven home tilts in UT’s first 10 scheduled contests. It also is the second of a four-game home stand. The Lady Vols remain undefeated after shutting down Central Arkansas, 77-34, on Thursday night in Knoxville. The triumph was Tennessee’s fourth at home this season and came on the heels of a three-game sweep in the Cancun Challenge Riviera Tournament, November 23rd-25th. Alabama State, meanwhile, brings a five-game losing streak into Sunday’s contest.

The Lady Vols remain undefeated after winning all three games at the Cancun Challenge in Mexico last Thursday through Saturday at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya in Puerto Aventuras. UT beat a talented No. 20/20 Marquette squad, 101-99, in overtime on Thursday night; held off a previously-unbeaten Oklahoma State squad, 79-69, on Friday evening and closed with a 69-49 victory over a solid South Dakota club on Saturday.

Competing in the Riviera Tournament, the Lady Vols open play vs. No. 20/20 Marquette (1-1) at 5:30pm CT on Thanksgiving night. UT enters undefeated after winning three straight at home to open the season, rolling past East Tennessee State, 87-49, and James Madison, 89-60, at Thompson-Boling Arena on November 12th and 15th, respectively, before closing out a three-game season-opening home stand with a 68-56 victory over Wichita State on Monday night.

This will mark the second straight season these teams have played, with the Lady Vols winning, 81-69, in last year’s season opener in Harrisonburg, VA. By the time Texas departs Knoxville on December 10th, Tennessee will have played seven of its first 10 games at home.
