AAA reports National Average Decreases as Gas Demand Remains Low

 

AAATampa, FL – As COVID-19 Coronavirus case numbers surpass 4 million, demand for gasoline is weakening across the country. The latest Energy Information Administration (EIA) demand reading measures at 8.5 million b/d, which is about 11% less than a year ago.

The lower demand contributed to a cheaper national average on the week – down one penny to $2.18. This is the first time since late April that the national average has declined.

NASA’s AIRS instrument observes Tropical Storm Fay as it hits East Coast

 

NASA - National Aeronautics and Space AdministrationPasadena, CA – Tropical Storm Fay is sweeping across New England, with the center of the storm making landfall about 10 miles (15 kilometers) north-northeast of Atlantic City, New Jersey, at around 5:00pm local time.

At that time, Fay had maximum sustained winds of around 50 mph (85 kph). Forecasters predicted the storm will dump up to 7 inches (18 centimeters) of rain along its path from Delaware into New Jersey.

AAA reports National Average rises back to $2.00 Per Gallon

 

AAATampa, FL – For 66 days, the national gas price average held below the $2.00/gallon mark, pushing as cheap as $1.76. In the past week, the average has inched up to $2.03. Despite the consistent increases at the pump, prices are still significantly cheaper year-over-year.

In fact, during the first week of June the past five years, gas prices have typically averaged $2.81.

101st Airborne Division Soldiers return to Fort Campbell following COVID-19 deployment

Fort Campbell KY - 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – Soldiers assigned to the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) returned to Fort Campbell, May 22nd, 2020 following a deployment in response to the fight against COVID-19 Coronavirus.

Eighteen Soldiers with the 101st Division Sustainment Brigade’s Forward Assessment Sustainment Team deployed, April 14th, and spent more than a month in New Jersey, coordinating and providing sustainment and logistical support for COVID-19 Coronavirus response operations throughout the Northeast region of the country.

The Northeast region included 11 states: Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont.

Rising junior point guard Antwuan Butler announced on his Twitter account on March 26th that after talking with his family he felt transferring would be in his best interests.

AAA reports Pump Prices, Crude Oil Continue to Decline

 

AAATampa, FL – The national gas price average is $2.47, which is four cents cheaper than last week and 11 cents cheaper than the beginning of the year. Motorists are paying less to fill up especially as crude oil prices are less expensive.

“Gas prices are pushing cheaper for two reasons. Crude oil prices are $10.00 less a barrel than one month ago and U.S. gasoline stocks sit at an all-time record high,” said Jeanette Casselano, AAA spokesperson.

AAA reports National Gas Prices continue to decline

 

AAAWashington, D.C. – AAA reports that the national gas price average is $2.51, which is three cents cheaper than last week, four cents less than last month, and 25 cents more than a year ago.

Gas prices have continued to drop over the last week as gasoline stocks grew again, measuring at 260 million bbl – the highest stock level ever recorded by the Energy Information Administration (EIA) since it began recording the data in 1990.

Subaru of America recalls over 120,000 certain 2003-2014 vehicles because Passenger Frontal Air Bag Inflator May Explode

 

National Highway Traffic Safety Administration - NHTSAWashington, D.C. – The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reports that Subaru of America, Inc. (Subaru) is recalling certain 2009-2013 Forester, 2003-2006 Baja, 2004-2011 Impreza, 2004-2014 WRX (including STI), 2003-2014 Legacy and Outback, and 2006 Saab 9-2X vehicles because the passenger frontal air bag inflator may explode.

An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.

AAA reports National Gas Price Average stays Steady despite Tensions with Iran

 

AAATampa, FL – AAA says the national gas price average held steady on the week at $2.58, but that could change depending on the movement of crude oil prices due to geopolitical concerns.

Following airstrikes in Baghdad last Friday, which killed Iran’s Major General Qassem Soleimani, crude oil prices increased, causing market speculation about what could happen to gas prices in the near-term.
