Celebrate Christmas with the City of Clarksville by visiting Christmas on the Cumberland

 

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville kicked off Christmas on the Cumberland, a Holiday Tradition unique to Clarksville-Montgomery County.  The display lights up McGregor Park in historic Downtown Clarksville, and features over one million lights. New  for this year includes trees wrapped in brilliant blue lights for an eye catching sight.

Christmas on the Cumberland will be open nightly from 5:00pm-10:00pm, Sunday through Thursday and 5:00pm-11:00pm, Fridays and Saturdays through January 4th, 2014. Admission to the event is free.

Gateway CAST & Crowns Performing Arts Center performers head to Orlando Florida

 

Gateway CAST & Crowns Performing Arts CenterClarksville, TN – Gateway CAST & Crowns Performing Arts Center has 11 performers attending the Power Pak Intensive in Orlando, Florida. The young people will be there July 1st through the 6th taking classes in all forms of dance as well as musical theatre.

Guest teachers from across the country will be teaching these classes. On July 5th the performers will be in a show at Downtown Disney and the on July 6th they will be the Starpower National Talent Competitions National Dance team.

The 2012 Rivers and Spires Festival Continues Today!

 

Rivers and Spires Festiveal 2012 - 10 yearsClarksville, TN – It’s hard to believe another year has passed and we are ready up for the 10th annual Rivers and Spires Festival, April 19th-21st. As usual there will be tons of free concerts, entertainment and activities. But, because it is our birthday, and we think a big one, the Festival has a few surprises up its sleeve, but you’ll have to come out and see!

If you’ve never been to the Rivers & Spires Festival or are new to town, put it on your calendar and get ready to have a great time. Lined with craft and food vendors, six music stages, kids’ activities and artisan booths, Historic Downtown transforms each year as the festival goes into full swing. Music is a big part of the event, with at least two artists on one of the many stages at any given time. But it doesn’t stop at just music.
