Montgomery County Clerk Office now offers Auto Assistant App, Renewal Kiosk for renewing Vehicle Registration

 

Montgomery County Government TennesseeMontgomery County, TN – Residents of Montgomery County now have access to two new alternative methods for renewing their vehicle registration. A free new mobile app called Auto Assistant is available for download on both iPhone and Android devices at getautoassistant.com.

Auto Assistant allows users to view an electronic copy of the registration and proof of insurance, receive notifications of any vehicle recalls, and easily renew.

Montgomery County’s New Wheel Tax Increase takes effect February 1st

 

Montgomery County Government TennesseeMontgomery County, TN – Beginning February 1st, 2021 the Montgomery County Motor Vehicle Wheel Tax will increase to $74.00. On October 12th, 2020, the Montgomery County Commission passed Resolution 20-9-15, titled “Resolution to Levy a County-Wide Motor Vehicle Tax”, which proposed a wheel tax increase of $25.00.

The new fee must be paid to the Montgomery County Clerk’s Office in addition to the state motor vehicle registration fees.

Montgomery County Wheel Tax Reimbursement Program to based on Age, Income

 

Applications for the Montgomery County Wheel Tax Reimbursement Program will be Available in 2021

Montgomery County Government TennesseeMontgomery County, TN – The $25.00 wheel tax increase for schools that passed with a two-thirds vote by the Montgomery County Commission on October 12th, 2020 goes into effect on February 1st, 2021. An amendment to the resolution providing an exemption based on age and income was unanimously approved by the County Commission.

The exemption is for individuals who are 65-years-old or older at the time of initial registration issuance or renewal with a household income not to exceed $25,000 annually.

Montgomery County Clerk’s Office Modifies Services During Shelter at Home Orders

 

Montgomery County Government TennesseeMontgomery County, TN – The Montgomery County Clerk’s Office drive-thru window is now closed. Residents who have registrations that expired in March or that will expire in April or May have been given an extension through June 15th, 2020, based on an executive order from the Tennessee Governor’s Office.

The executive order for the extension covers registration renewal expirations, temporary operating permits as well as disabled placard renewals.

Montgomery County Clerk’s Office announces Update to Services

 

Montgomery County Government TennesseeMontgomery County, TN – The Montgomery County Clerk’s Office is informing citizens that expiration dates for vehicle registrations have been extended for those that expire in March and April.

Based on Tennessee Governor Bill Lee’s Executive Order, registration renewal expirations, temporary operating permits as well as disabled placard renewals that would have been renewed in March or April, have now been extended until June 15th, 2020.

Montgomery County Health Department traffic pattern at Veteran’s Plaza for Coronavirus Testing

 

Montgomery County Government TennesseeClarksville, TN – The Montgomery County Health Department is operating a drive-thru testing site for Coronavirus (COVID-19 for individuals experiencing fever, cough, and shortness of breath. Follow the signs when you enter the parking lot.

Montgomery County Clerk’s Office Encourages Use of Online Services

 

Montgomery County Government TennesseeMontgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett and Montgomery County Clerk Kellie Jackson highly encourage the use of online renewal services to help reduce any possible spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus).

According to Montgomery County Clerk Kellie Jackson, approximately 800 people a day or 4,000 people per week come into the County Clerk’s office for various services.

Montgomery County Commission Special Meeting set for July 25th

 

Montgomery County Government TennesseeMontgomery County, TN – On Thursday, July 25th, 2019 a Special Budget meeting has been requested by Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett has requested at 6:00pm to correct a procedural error.

On Tuesday, during preparation of the official documents reflecting the actions taken at the Montgomery County Commission Meeting of July 15th, 2019, the County Clerk’s office discovered that after amendment of Resolution 19-7-4 to establish a tax rate in Montgomery County, Tennessee, at $2.99, the main motion then, as amended, was not called to the floor for a vote.

Montgomery County Clerk’s Office Recognized for Support of Organ and Tissue Donor Registry

 

Montgomery County Government TennesseeMontgomery County, TN – At their May meeting, Montgomery County was awarded the 2019 Tennessee State Wide Winner of National Donate Life Month Blue & Green Day. County Clerks across the state were challenged to show their support for the organ and tissue donor registry by participating in the annual Blue & Green Day.

“The Montgomery County Clerk’s Office was honored to participate and accept the statewide award. We enjoyed getting involved in this important initiative, but we know we did not do this alone,” said Kellie Jackson, Montgomery County Clerk.
