Manna Café Ministries needs Volunteers for Emergency Mobile Pantry

 

City of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – Manna Café Ministries is seeking 50 volunteers to step up Friday and help people who lost food supplies during the power outage caused by last weekend’s storm.

The ministry at 605 Providence Boulevard, Clarksville, will receive a special shipment of food from Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee at 8:00am Friday.

Clarksville Agencies offer help after Power Outages

 

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – Several Clarksville food relief agencies are stepping up to help people who lost food supplies during the weekend’s power outages.

The City of Clarksville Office of Housing and Community Development, which helps provide resources and homeless services, is working with the Community Action Agency, Loaves and Fishes, Manna Café Ministries and Urban Ministries to coordinate the effort.

People in need of food because of spoilage during the power outages should make direct contact with one of these participating agencies:

City of Clarksville, Urban Ministries, THDA dedicate center for homeless families

 

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – Safe Place, a new transitional center to help homeless families, was dedicated Wednesday by Urban Ministries and the City of Clarksville.

Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan; Beverly Dycus, Executive Director of Urban Ministries/Clarksville; Clarksville Director of Housing & Community Development Keith Lampkin; and Sherry Smith, senior housing coordinator for the Tennessee Housing Development Agency; joined with a crowd of about 60 citizens to dedicate the facility and celebrate the new community resource.

Clarksville Police investigate Two Armed Robberies

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Clarksville Police Officers are currently investigating two Armed Robberies that occurred on September 5th, 2016 within 34 minutes of each other with similar suspect descriptions.

The first Robbery occurred at 8:41pm at the Dollar General on Madison Street near the intersection of South Third Street. Money was taken from the safe.

Legal Aid Society Partnership Offers Free Legal Advice at Clarksville Soup Kitchen

 

Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the CumberlandsClarksville, TNLegal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands, Tennessee’s largest non-profit law firm, announced today a partnership with First Presbyterian Church in Clarksville to launch the Presbyterian Legal Assistance Network (PLAN).

Staff attorneys from Legal Aid Society’s Clarksville office will provide a free legal clinic at a meal program, Loaves and Fishes, which operates out of the church six days per week.
