US Bank Donates $3,000 to Support LEAP’s Partners in Employment (PIE) Initiative

 

LEAP OrganizationClarksville, TN – The U.S. Bank Foundation, has awarded a $3,000 grant to LEAP’s Youth Career Readiness Program as a Partner In Employment. The grant is a part of U.S. Banks’s Community Possible Program, which supports organizations and programs that advance the funding priorities in areas where designated U.S. Bank communities are served.

Decisions are based on organizations financial stability, leadership, impact measurement, and collaboration with key community stakeholders in the community. LEAP Organization fits the bill! Damon Jennings, LEAP ORG Board member, describes U.S. Bank’s support as simply tremendous to help youth enhance their employability skills.

Austin Peay State University Governors and Chamber Community Golf Classic set for Friday

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Governors and Chamber Community Golf Classic and Partner Celebration Dinner is Friday and pairings have been announced for the one-day, three-course tournament.

The event, which has seen APSU Athletics and the Clarksville Chamber of Commerce combined their two tournaments, will be played Friday at the Clarksville Country Club, Swan Lake Golf Course and The Links at Novadell in Hopkinsville, KY.

The shotgun start for the four-player, best-ball scramble is 10:30am at the three courses.

Clarksville’s Riverfest Festival kicked off today with the Regatta boat race

 

Clarksville Riverfest 2014Clarksville, TN – The Riverfest Regatta, presented by U.S. Bank, is not your typical boat race. The boats racing down the Cumberland River at Saturday morning, September 6th were made of cardboard or plastic bottles along with a few other approved materials.

“We always enjoy the opportunity to sponsor city events,” said Steve Kemmer of US Bank. “This is the eighth annual Riverfest Regatta, and we have been part of this event for the past several years! It’s just a great way for us to give back to the community, and they have a lot of fun! The creativity is unbelievable.”

Customs House Museum opens “Becoming Clarksville: Celebrating Legacies of Leadership” in the newly remodeled Clarksville Jaycee’s Heritage Hall

Through the prism of leadership, the exhibit explores the history of Clarksville and Montgomery County, focusing on the stories of individuals who helped shape the city, featuring unique interactive and video elements. Becoming Clarksville also serves as a legacy for the Clarksville Jaycees, remembering its history and contributions to the people of Clarksville.

The City of Clarksville kicked off the 2012 Christmas on the Cumberland

 

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville kicked off the 14th Annual Christmas on the Cumberland last night, which continues until January 1st. The annual free holiday display features over 1,000,000 individual Lights in a amazing Christmas display that spans the entire length of McGregor Park in Downtown Clarksville.

This has become one of the most popular events held on the banks of the Cumberland River in Historic Downtown Clarksville, second only to the Riverfest Celebration held in September. It draws thousands of people per day down to the banks of the Cumberland River to enjoy the Christmas lights with family and friends.
