Clarksville Parks and Recreation Report for March 3rd, 2013
This weeks highlights include:
Indoor Aquatic Center to host second annual “Wettest Egg Hunts”The Indoor Aquatic Center, located at 166 Cunningham Lane, has once again partnered with Sango Pool & Spa to host two not-so-typical egg hunts. On Saturday, March 23rd, thousands of colored eggs will be floating or sunk in the center’s pools, each good for candy and prizes. An adaptive egg hunt will be offered for children and adults with special needs from 10:00am to 11:00am. Another hunt will follow for children ages 1 to 12 from 1:00pm to 7:00pm. To help families as they plan to attend the Wettest Egg Hunts, the schedule of the day is as follows:
These events are free and will include refreshments and activities such as egg coloring, an obstacle course and other games. Pre-registration for the Wettest Egg Hunts is required and can be completed online at recpro.cityofclarksville.com ![]() Kids gather eggs from the pool at the Indoor Aquatic Center during the City of Clarksville’s Wettest Easter Egg Hunts Lifeguard Certification Course to be offered
The American Red Cross Lifeguarding Course provides entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until emergency medical service personnel can take over. Course content and exercises will prepare participants to make appropriate decisions about the care to provide in an aquatic or medical emergency. Participants must be at least 15 years of age and will be asked to swim 300 yards continuously, tread water for two minutes without the use of arms or hands and swim 20 yards and retrieve a ten-pound weight from 12 feet of water in less than one minute and forty seconds. 2013 Spring Eggstravaganza!
Activities will take place from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. Egg hunts are open to children ages 3 to 10 and will take place from 2:15pm to 4:00pm on either the softball (ages 3-6) or baseball (ages 7-10) fields. Egg hunt times are as follows:
