APSU Hosts 43rd Annual Student Art Exhibit

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Since 1968, the Student Art League and the Visiting Artists and Speakers Committee at Austin Peay State University have mounted a juried exhibition of student work, and this spring, the tradition continues with the 43rd Annual Student Exhibition at APSU.

The show, co-sponsored by the APSU art department and the Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts, will open at 7:00pm, March 28th in the Trahern Gallery and will run through April 15th. The event is free and open to the public.

“This show showcases the original content that is being generated by the students,” Warren Green, assistant professor of art, said.

First- and second-place awards will be presented to the top works in graphic design, 2-D studio art and 3-D studio art. A Best of Show Award, a second runner-up and a third runner-up will also be presented.

This year’s exhibition is being juried by Karen Edgin, graphic designer at the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority, and Lain York, a professional artist and gallery director at the Zeitgeist Gallery in Nashville.
