Austin Peay Lady Govs Golf finishes 11th at Gulf Shores

Gulf Shores, AL – Austin Peay State University women’s golf team shot a final-round 338, Tuesday, to finish in 11th place at the UAB Fall Beach Blast, played at the at the Peninsula and Racquet Club.

The Lady Govs finished at 681. Memphis won the tourney with a 603, followed by Southern Mississippi at 630 on the 6,050-yard layout.

Freshman Marta Gutierrez, who shot 79 on Monday but injured her shoulder in the process, led the Lady Govs with a 165 (79-86=165), followed by senior Ashley Averitt (87-83=170), junior Lauren Bond (87-85=172), sophomore Tabitha Beard 91-84=175) and junior Holly Batey (90-87=187).

Sophomore Tala Mumford, playing as an individual, had the Lady Govs’ best finish, shooting (83-80=163) to finish tied for 19th. Meanwhile, freshman Meghan Mueller shot (88-84=172).

The Beach Blast serves as the Lady Govs final fall tournament.
